  1. yeah you don't really notice it till you have a blue one on one side and a gold one on the other. lower end models have blue and more expensive ones have gold.
  2. I have some experience with sideways front wheel drives. I have always had my best experiences dropping the engine and transmission out the bottom of the car. oooh i see it has balance shafts! that's a very common source of lots of engine noise! is it auto or manual?
  3. is yours blue-ish or goldish? I have a goldish one I can send off once I swap the blue one back in my door... oh and I approved your XT.com membership so you should be able to post now.
  4. geeze... give him a chance. He might need a little time to get acclimated to the car and cars in general. he has good taste, better than most 17 YOs!
  5. you can get overflow tank bubbles from a bad cap.. I know I did. and I have one of those caps with the release valve.. when I open it even a minute after shutting it off I get overflow and bubbles. (what I am saying is it's supposed to do that) I'd try a new cap and possibly thermostat (they go bad from sitting up) and see if it changes. your idle/running issue is likely an unrelated thing. I know you checked for codes and such..
  6. the system works by using the switch (button) to open a solenoid that lets vacuum move the lever on the transmission. the first thing I would check is the vacuum lines to that area! this has been covered a bit and a search will net you more info!
  7. the CTS that generally has the issues is threaded into the manifold. more details on the car? is it carburated, SPFI? what you have there is a thermosensor for the fan.
  8. Rico, did you try the SVX world network? http://www.subaru-svx.net there are a handful of them coming to the meet.
  9. people put sti/wrx heads on those blocks. your answers have been covered many times over at the more impreza oriented sites. not that this isn't a good place to ask or talk about this. but you will get more answers and experience at I-club, Nasioc or RS25.
  10. inquiring minds want to know
  11. and it depends on how much boost you are running. with high boost you "can" put a lot of stress on a turbo with nothing.
  12. there's a resistor you can put in it's place. do a search for the rating of the resistor.
  13. they do 5mt swaps into EG33 cars all the time. I'm not sure how this would be too different. (but I already had a little crow in this thread so go easy on me.)
  14. too bad we didn't think to buy some extra gas up last year when it was 2.29... was that really just last year?? (counts back on fingers) yeah.. it was. :-\
  15. that has to be the worst attempt at mind control EVAR....
  16. love it all you want but never tell it. that's where you ************ed up.
  17. it matters not if I have to I'll run EDIS.
  18. we're both right... it's just the internals that are shared by the trannys and they Are made by nissan..
  19. pretty sure that's how I read it on the svx forums.. but that was 3 years or more ago.
  20. I used some "weldit" (generic JB type crap)on a log manifold in a mitsubishi....... worked fine.
  21. thanks that's what I wanted to know.. I saw someone running a DSM CAS on another engine for MS-n-spark and it worked fine... my engine will be here end of the month. I wanted to know if I had cam acces on the back of the head! I may have to weld tabs and that's all good!
  22. like does a Phase II EJ25 have the cam cover/slot for a distributor? I am not wanting to use a distributor but a CAS for a DSM for megasuirt and spark.
  23. rebuilt svx transmissions come in a Nissan box these transmissions are used in awd Pathfinders I don't know which years though.
