  1. I always think of like syphilis or HIV when people use the term STD.
  2. Cool . as it stands I have 2 stock xts a 86 dl and a loaded 88 gl the manual steering makes no difference in the 2 for me. I prefer driving the manual steered one and was just kind of wondering. now that I think about it I can see the manual steering wearing on one for long runs. I guess I I'll see how manual steering works out for me when rally x starts.
  3. I know you said no debates. frankenmotor is high compression. Might be easier/better to supercharge a stock 2.2
  4. What does power steering have to do with ”handling the power”? Just curious. IMO the power doesn't really affect the steering
  5. If the part is in good shape, steering angle at install shouldn't matter. the parT is angled. It should self align when tightening the nut. Make sure you got it tight.
  6. not to mention the damage to the damper portion of the struts done by driving around with no air in them. also as you lower a car you should stiffen the springs, (to prevent bottoming out) the exact opposite happens with low air bags
  7. Yep. But I did inspect them. no cracks yet...
  8. That car is hot and I hate you. That is all.
  9. my soon to be rallyx racer. not that it really counts but maybe when I have pics of dirt flying from the wheel wells... "special stage" mag cover is my desktop now, thanks!
  10. like how mine had the thermostat pulled over a bad electric fan. all is good now though!

Yeah. The rears are the same shape. My xtgl bar is on my Xtdl now. Just to see if it would fit. which was a 20MM like the chart says. and boy howdy the car turns even easier now. manual steer plus 20mm rear is a very sporting feel!
  12. yep. history in person(sort of). pretty cool.

oh and who has the skills to edit in my XTDL witht he 13mm bar?
  14. zukiru replied to a post in a topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
yeah I guess so. I imagine there wasn't an XTDL on hand to measure that day either. can anybody tell me the difference (if any) in shape between a 4wd sway and a 2wd sway?
  15. I'll take some of that dirty Audi all up on me.

Wow I measured my rear bar on my XTDL and it was only 13... anybody know what years this chart is for?
  17. Reverse drill bit Or... helicoil.
  18. http://subaruxt.com/forum/index.php But its acting weird today. Like the formatting got munched.
  19. Cam cases are not part of the head. They are separate entities.
  20. okay so you already did a cleaner. cool. (seafoam is just a good cleaner that can be added to the oil and run through the engine to clean it up) I have read of a few instances where the reseal wasn't enough and the car needed a whole new pump to fix the issue. but that is not common. yes you can get to the pump without pulling the engine. the timing belt drives the pump. have you done timing belts?
  21. yeah it can affect just one head. seriously though run some seafoam first. the next place to look is new gaskets for the oil pump.
  22. before you change the head. first. run a bit of seafoam in the oil. (you can get it at walmart) some dirt could be causing your stuck lifter. (this fixed mine) if that doesn't work reseal the oil pump. if that doesn't work reseal the cam tower. if that doesn't work replace a lifter.
  23. they are not glaringly stupid questions, but they are answered in the link. if you just disconnect the solenoid without adding a load.... you can put the transmission computer in limp mode. which is not good. is it was a simple as pulling a fuse there wouldn't be a how to thread.
  24. You can measure it with a string.
