So my rear axle fell apart while I was driving
You have to leave the stub in. But the cup attaches to the stub with a roll pin. Just look at it again. You'll see. Hadn't thought about removing an axle for the sake of having a welded diff. Really good idea!

New to USMB. Heres my 99' subaru legacy outback wagon.
I think the car looks amazing. But i think the wheels don't go all that well with the lower body color. Not the style of them. Just the finish. Still really clean and i love the black leather.

Lifter Tick aka "The Tick of Death" / question / 94 Loyale 3AT wagon
I have good lifters that i daily drove for 3 years. I would rather trust those than the rebuilds honestly. Couldn't get the lifters out without removing the cam tower. I've never done one of these. Anybody know what sealant is best? And what to clean the mating surfaces with. Acetone? Sorry for the minor thread jack. I'm sending the old lifters out for rebuild if i ever get an email back from mizpah. Oh i didn't have a sucked in o-ring. But it was pretty flat.

One of mine has the cable removed. Thinking about re installing and seeing what happens. I really like the hill holder on my sedan.

Lifter Tick aka "The Tick of Death" / question / 94 Loyale 3AT wagon
I'm putting known good lifters in my loyale tomorrow. Think i can do it with the cam tower in place. I'll let you know how it goes. There is also an oil rail in there with some SMALL holes for oil delivery. Gonna blow that out while I'm in there.

Been my daily driver and rallyx car for the past year our so. Bought it about two years ago. Now that i have a new daily I'm going to finally do something i always wanted to do. An engine swap. Not a lot of Subarus here though. Getting parts will be a challenge. Hoping to build the hybrid "franken motor" and keep it mostly stock looking.- '86 Subaru GL Turbo
Okay. I want that steering wheel for my sedan. Is that an 86 thing, or a 3 door coupe thing? Also love this car! Nice to see a coupe in blue. Most of them i see pics of are white.- Lol...
I'll go one weirder than the saabaru. Google "Chevy Forester" lol I'm going to get a brz, or frs. But in like 4 years with some miles on it. buying new cars is like asking to be screwed - 1986 GL Sedan - NED
