  1. Its much easier to see the marks on the fly wheel if you have a manual.
  2. The timing mark I used is on the flywheel under the rubber plug on the bellhousing
  3. We had... well my dad had a Mazda mpv that wood tick when the oil needed changed. My blue xt cleared up with some Seafoam.
  4. Odd, my 88 has it too. Maybe they carried it over on XTs?
  5. Ooh.... I see. on my XTs the pulley bolts to the water pump AND has studs for the fan. now I get why you told me to put the pulley back...
  6. ?? lol Yeah I left the pulley.
  7. The one to delete Imho is the clutch fan. The clutch is likely junk and they can use up to 10hp.
  8. Jdm Maxima had a ”Cefiro” version that is RWD. There is a good chance of those turning up in OZ.
  9. anybody know how long an LS1 is? I'm thinking FWD XT. it worked for the SHO.

  13. just looking to see how the alternators mount on ea82s with no AC. going to try and get my XTDL set up with no AC since it should have been that way anyway.
  14. just seems like I find more junked zs than I do maximas. either they arfe keeping the maximas up, or they were scrapped a long time ago.... not sure which. :-\
  15. appreciate the 300zx tip that wil open up the options more at the junkyard.
  16. They changed the intake manifold for 87.5. The new one is better but requires some wiring if you have the older model. 7/87 could go either way.
  17. Rockauto has some on closeout It's recommended to always install struts in pairs. Handling can be adversity affected other wise.
  18. an 88 prelude isn't a first gen... sorry I am a CAR NURD. if it's 99 or older and from Japan I have way too much uselss info in my brain about it. 1st gen -78 2nd gen till 87 3rd gen 88 which looks a lot like my XT if yours is an 88 then it's the one I like most.. so :-p lol welcome to USMB
  19. you know I've never even looked to see which I have... I bet I got gen1 on the 86 and gen 2 or 3 on the 88... now I am curious and will have to look... @jonruff is your 87 an 87 or an 87.5?
  20. Latest starter is actually still holding on. No draw on the switch signal, everything seems to be alright. As if it was just a burp...
  21. Fuel system or ignition troubles also.
  22. There could be with megasquirt or a Hondata ecu or something tunable. But to try and get the stock ecu to read a map seems like a lot of work for little (no) return.
  23. Why not just get a good factory flapper and be done? But you could look at factory Toyota flappers.. very similar and much more common.
