  1. I agree, this was my thoughts on this and I dont have any problems going to court in fact me and Best Buy have a date for court within the next 30 days.
  2. They said it would work, but I like to get second and third opinions, I figure someone here has already tried it and knows for sure.
  3. You two are on top of things, I was wanting an answer soon so I could get my order in but did not expect it that fast. Thanks
  4. I am going to order a rebuildt engine from C.C.R. can I order a 96 2.2 engine which is non interference and put it in my 97 which is interference, without running into problems with the computer or other hook ups.
  5. The transmission you told me about at Capital city in Austin was a good one, they also have the engine from the same car. I would like to buy it but if I buy the engine one place and have someone else install it and something goes wrong I wont have any way to recoup, that is why I was wanting to get the engine and install at same location.
  6. Forget I asked, I just checked with the B.B.B. I wont be using them.
  7. Has anyone ever used American Engine Installation, They have 45 Locations nation wide? I need a different 2.2 engine for my postal wagon and they can do a low mileage engine installed for 2,150.00 dollar with one year unlimited mileage warrenty.
  8. I have never tried this but others here have suggested spraying a light mist of moisture on the wires after dark and check for some jumping fire. I would not spray it when the engine is hot.
  9. I did not see in your post where you changed the plug wires, I think I would do that next. You said you changed the plugs, many times the wires will be damaged when you change the plugs.
  10. I dont see any for sell in our mag. this month in Oregon, most are in N.Y. Nearest to you is a 1993 R.H.D. in Central Ks. 2,700.00 from a retired carrier 620-562-3522.
  11. Cut the tape! A co worker of mine back in 1980 that I shared rides back and forth to work bought a new truck with air cond. In the Tx. summer heat he would not use the air cond. Use what you have to get the most help with the problems that come along.
  12. Is that pully wrench for the 2.2 or the 2.5 or they may be the same? Where do you buy that wrench at.
  13. Not to fast every State is different, he is in Washington. You are correct the I.R.S. can do these things with a judgement. And maybe they can be done in your State, Here in Tx. it is much harder for an invd. to collect, but it can be done.
  14. I never noticed the notch you speak of but I have only taken the cam pullys off one time, I looked for the reg. cam spocket and crank spocket holding tools but have not found them, the chain wrench works O.K. but it is a pain to get everything where you need it while keeping things in place.
  15. Otis, the next time you you need to go to small claims court get you the book for your State that shows how to win and collect judgements in your State. You can find these at Amazon, they are things the court can make people do that you have a judgement against that it becomes easily for them to pay then comply with the courts demands. If they fail to comply with the court they can be held in contempt and be put in jail.
  16. Like Otis said, you may be able to collect on your ins. under the under ins. or uninsured clause. This will not go against your ins.
  17. On my 2.2 I used a piece of the old belt around pully with a chain wrench, which I know you already know this trick so have you found a better way?
  18. Their is lots of right hand drive Subaru's to be had here in the states, if you really want one I can sent you this months issue of the National Rural Mag. with the ads for them from around the U.S. most are wore out and needs lots of work. The 98 that got wrecked the day after Christmas I bought for 100.00 dollars last year with the transmisson out. I had replaced it and really fixed it up nice and then some young girl hit me head on on a blind corner, her ins. paid me around 5,000.00 for it but I had probably spent around 4,000.00 on it and nearly a years work. The postal wagons all came with the 2.2 engine and most parts will interchange with the other Legacy wagons. Some of the steering parts wont and also the heater core wont.
  19. Maybe it was mine, My R.H.D was sent to a salvage yard somewhere after being wrecked the day after Christmas. Mine was a 1998 and white.
  20. I would say mine had close to 1/2 in. play but I did not measure it. Also I am talking about the front axle. I dont think the front ones have the cir. clips but I dont know that for sure, are you working on the front or back?
  21. I think it is normal for that to side in and out, at least I have noticed that mine will move in and out sometimes with the axle on. What I mean is one time when I was looking under the hood I got a hold of the axle and it moved in and out, I also was concerened but that was many years and miles ago so maybe it O.K.
  22. Gary is correct the 1997 and up 2.2 are interference, this I know because my 97 2.2 got destoryed from the idle pully coming apart.
  23. If the back ones are good that should work, maybe the other owner did not rotate them and he will be able to tell. If they have ever been on the front they might also have the same wear patten.
  24. If you are talking about the big control arm bushing at the rear of the control arm they will leak grease when they go bad, and a pop or clunk will be heard when you turn the car around. If that shaking is much worse when you brake I would change the rotors. I would think the tires may be the rest of the problem on that shaking if the other rack was as bad as you say the tires probably have a bad wear patten on them and the firm rack is not letting them roll to the old wear patten.
