-
thats what i was wondering, if the mpfi and turbo mpfi were the same injector. then is the fuel pump different on turbo models?
-
do turbo ea82s have the same injector, turbo or na? if they are different, what are the flow rates?

Are all 1983 GL's D/R ??
archemitis replied to stangboytom's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
as long as the radiator is good and you change the oil it will live forever:banana: dual range is cool to have, if you are going to off road it. they love abuse. -
they work great, but if you change your plugs when you are supposed to, it probably doesnt pay to buy $20 spark plugs. i have them in my harley, and they work great with high compression, and are supposed to be good for high boost engines. but i doubt they give me any horse power at all. they should last a hundred thousand miles though right?

i just fit a legacy radiator in my ea82 wagon:banana: its not pretty and it took some sledge hammering, but it is in and secrue, and the hood even closes. it is a tight fit. i put a fan in front of the rad, because theres no longer room for one between the rad and engine. i also put an oil cooler right in front of the radiator, next to the fan. and i got a kit to use the biggest filter made for automotive. its like an f1 or something, in motorcraft numbers. its a ford f350 filter, like a big soup can. it all holds water and oil for now. its dark so i'll post pics tomorrow, im just surprised it all fit. you can never have too many cooling options. pics when theres lite:headbang:

exhaust studs vs bolts
archemitis replied to baccaruda's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
the only bad thing about that is you are more apt to pull the threads out of the head. i'de try and get some more studs. but then again i have about 4 bolts and 4 studs between my two subarus. -

archemitis replied to LUVMYBRAT's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
ok man, nonsence huh? my 20 washers works great. instead of making some bracket out of steel, i just move the stock bracket up 1 inch with longer bolts. works great, solid as hell, and just like stock. dont knock it till you try it skip! -
so is there a cfm that will max out the movement of the flapper?do i have to put a checkball on the vaccum advance hose, so i dont boost the disty?

you can make it manual with a kit, pretty easy. you can pay $300 for a kit and most of it will just bolt on, or you can buy one on ebay for a hundred bucks and buy an adapter for like 30 and an aircleaner for 30. and then you make your throttle linkage work, with 20 washers and long bolts. the 32/36 dgav. get a good weber that is new or rebuilt, so you dont inherit somebodys problems, then mash the throttle and have fun:headbang: -
i'll come over this weekend with a picklefork and a crowbar, and a bfh of course!
-
hotwire it if you have to:madder:
-
you dont even have to do that, you can just run it . but yah cap them power steering is for suckers:headbang:
-
im sure it will work ok... we'll see:banana:

does that go for na and turbo? thanks skip!

well, i just pulled an ea82 mpfi out of the junkyard today. its an 85 xt. i got the wiring, the computer, the long block, and the maf sensor. looked like a flapper to me. would this be a good one to turbo? are the older ones the same, turbo, or na? like is this computer just waiting to see boost?

2WD '88 EA81 GL clutch size?
archemitis replied to TheSubaruJunkie's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
im might be wrong, but i thought that the ea81 had one clutch for the 2xs and the 4xs and the ea82s have one for 4x/turbo. and one for all the 2xs. and i thought the 2xs were the same from ea81 to ea82. its all about the tranny any one will fit on the motor, but the tranny spline is what makes it hard to use a 4x on a 2x -

archemitis replied to archemitis's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
i dont want to get into the ole big turbo vs. small turbo, but the 2.2 should be great, just more lag, but more overall cfm. 300hp huh?
