  1. unfortunately, he worked the trail office, and got nowhere near the trail. pretty forester pics soon!
  2. um... its free, so you cant ask for the world. *as long as its not stolen, id take it* 116k miles and no rust? thats a no brainer.
  3. soon to be made. i have alot of old digital footage or morganm and i rollin offroad in stock and modified subarus. brats, wagons, hatches. and im about to add alot more footage to my offroad archives. morganm and i are heading to this big offroad event this comming weekend, and im bringing two 1 gig memory cards!_! whoohoo it'll either be good footage of us stompin on some jeep guys or us gettin broke. either way should be fun... burned to cd and/or dvd of course =] others should do the same, there needs to be more subaru offroad videos out there.
  4. something had to happen during the lift. even if they didnt get pulled out, they could have been broken, inside the plastic housing, if you stretched them. i did a 4 inch lift, lowered everything about 7 inches during install, and all that wiring was long enough for that.
  5. if hood clearance issues was a problem, you probably shouldnt be building a ragin xt6 motor. =] *sawsall emoticon here* i think a t3 at low boost with an intercooler would be very very cool. i think its gotta handle 5-7 lbs without any fuel management at all. the maf sensor would just sense more air going in, just like if you cammed it. and put big exhaust, and all that good stuff. but an extra two injectors, right at the crotch of the manifold would be nice, and easy too. if i didnt go offroad with my hatch, id turbo the crap out of it, but thats just asking for broken axles, with my big tires. very turboable
  6. sorry to get off topic, but a 1500lb winch should do the job on a light subaru, 0r sould i be looking at bigger ones?
  7. three foot piece of 4x2 steel, on each side, with metal connecting them across the car. then mount leaf springs to the long steel pieces. use the original holes in the car from the old suspension, and the diff hanger, and the part that you connect to the front lift blocks, that holds your tcase... all seems pretty straight forward. whip out the welder, drill press, and chop saw! rage it!
  8. "hey pal... sure i just blew up my car... but... i'll be nice to yours..." hehehe that sucks, guess you found the breaking point for daily driver/race car. if its just a head gasket, thats good, not a bad place for a weak link. if it wasnt the gasket, it could be a hole in a piston, or someting worse.
  9. wait'll the jeep guys get a load of this... rainbows... subarus... wheres the pink triangle... just kidding nice pic is it realy a double rainbow, or is that the camera?
  10. same spot, just like factory subaru was lazy back then
  11. if i tried to go offroadin on the way to work, id get the cops called on me like morganm...
  12. i have been late getting to work, and late getting home the past two days. if i stop, i cant get going again untill the crowd dissipates people love this thing. i've never driven something that inspires such awe in people. its like in rolin around in a 69 corvette. i love it!_! you guys get the same thing?
  13. dont trust mechanical gauges, just because they are new. mine is 10 lbs off. it takes 4 lbs of pressure to pump up lifters. if you arent ticking like mad, your pressure is fine.
  14. man, seperation of church and internet should be implemented!_! thats the devil sign his hands are making, not the i love you sign...
  15. looks like you need a trip to the steel yard =]
  16. how do we know wjm never did this in the first place
  17. those are about 28s. i've heard a few folks say they fit 27s on an ea82, with no lift. just the stock lift cranked in, and alot of fender trimming. probably not without a lift.
  18. sounds like your already runing into alot of trouble. you have to grind the ribs flat on the rear drums. and on the front hubs, you have to grind alot of metal away, and weld up a flat surface for the stud to seat all the way around. 17/32 is too small, and 9/16 is way too big! 14 mm is right on. i shouldnt say this, but a 17/32 reamed once around with a rat tail file seems to work ok also... but buy a 14mm =] geting the holes in the right place is hard, and very inportant.
  19. i could think of a realy good way to get more ground clearance out of a lift. especialy if you consider the PK lifts use 3 inch blocks between the body and the xmembers, 2 inch blocks on the tranny, and then runing a 4" strut extension all the way around... you see where im goin with this woundnt it be cool to run 4 inch blocks all the way around, then have your axles at a reasonable angle? or you could put 5 inch strut extensions, front and rear, and get the same axle angle as the byb/pk list.
  20. not sure, but i have a 1/2 inch 3/8s socket spacing one of mine out...
  21. well... i always figured thats why the 4 inch lifts stopped at 4 inch, and not 5, because you cant find bolts, strong enough, that long. all of the 6inch+lifts i have seen use open stock, with the same short stock bolt stuck in one side, and nuts on the other. you just have to use stronger steel, and not rely on the long bolt to keep is strong. that or buiild small subframes.
  22. theres the spirit!
  23. its no where near a bolt in.you gotta switch rails, and do some drilling. and i did alot of welding very doable, just not bolt in.
  24. http://www.subarubrat.com i always liked those flairs on his monster brat
  25. i think the one wire will work. your 3 wire sensor has a heater, so it starts working faster. there is an extra 2 wires, for the ground and the power for the heater in the o2 sensor. and the other wire is the signal to the computer. as far as i know, if you want, you can put a one wire in your car, and just tape off the two extra wires. or go to a parts supplier tha knows a hatch from an ej.
