  1. i think the modyour talking about is when you make your secondaries mechanical, instead of vac opperated. and will give you more low end wheel spinin action, but not more power. im with most of the guys, unless you do a teardown and a hp rebuild. you need an engine swap. or cut the exhaust off, and rev the piss out of it =] its a 4 cylinder, it likes 5k.
  2. i take that crap off the pedals, so i dont end up hitting the brake and the clutch at the same time.
  3. i have seen some turbo setups that put the air flow sensor after the turbo, and the intercooler, to give you a more accurate reading. my car runs rich all the time, and so did my spfi, righ as hell. so putting more gas into a car that runs rich already should loose you some hp. but thats na, not turbo, so if your close to the limits of the fuel system, richening it up would help cool down the combustion chamber... i like the safc if im gonna fool my computer.
  4. flat black doesnt hold up, and gets dirty as hell, i have semi flat on my wagon, and it holds everythinig. i like blue, if not the wrx blue then a little darker. i love that grill!
  5. everybody says just get a megasquirt, but... where are they all? i wouldnt use a fuel cell, just put a high flow in place of the stock pump, and replace the 2 feet of low pressure hose, to high pressure efi hose. and use the same return line. you only have 10 gallons, of fuel any way, and thats about what a fuel cell that fits would hold. its lower center of gravity in the fuel tank too. and you dont need the whole harness, that woudnt all fit in a hatch =] just get the part that goes from the motor to the computer, in the trunk, and use that part. its just a matter of putting power to a few wires, and hooking up the fuel pump relay, and 1 wire to the distributor its actually pretty easy conversion, in hind sight =/ and i guess you'll need either a sawsall, or a crossmember, made for an ea81 with a turbo. thats just for the exhaust to fit.
  6. ya, with a bigass hammer, give the outer part(with the nut on the end)a good wack, and it pops right iff. man, i was on a gravel road today, and its squirley as hell! shor little hatch, almost spun it on a corner, sliding around =] im pretty sure it drags more, my top speed is reduced, but it doesnt hop around or torque steer like front wheel drive. thats not the only part on my car flinging grease =]
  7. i have had a bad inner doj on the front for a few months now, and it was starting to bind up, and not move so much as it sould, so i took it out. only one. drove it around for 30 miles, and it seems like its more drag on the car. i was thinking it would be more effiscient. am i dreaming? sliding around corners is fun!
  8. i dont know why you quoted me, and went on a tangent about rice. you must be crazy. i think if you posted a list of parts, and dyno sheets from somebody that tried, and got close. along with a list of inmprvements over this mythical persons car then you might not get so many peepl saying you, personally, wont accomplish this. everybody with a turbo thinks they have a ten second car
  9. i believe it was the BeastieBoys who said it best, "i dont mean to brag, i dont mean to boast, but im intercontinental when i eat french toast." i have projects going, but i dont make a big rump roast bs post about it before i start, or before i even have any parts. or when i dont even plan on doing it. the only peepl who are impressed by these ideas, are the 16 year old fast and the furious junkies.
  10. im headin to texas around the first september. my brother and i are heading down to visit family, and mess with cars. my cousin works at a dyno shop in arlington, and we get to play with the dyno after hours!_! im shootin for 80 hp to the ground but its a four wheel dyno, so im gonna run it in low range to see if any power curves are effected. not sure, but im guessin we could have a parking lot subaru party one nite if any of you texas guys are interested.
  11. i had one on the hood of my car as a rino horn, for about 4 months with orange silicone. but somebody sat on it and it broke off i think the key would be to get both surfaces very clean, and use something thats made for rubber, and metal. i bet windshield adhesive would work good. the stuff to install a windshield, not the stuff to seal up a poorly installed one. or leave em out unless you offroad, or carry alot of weight
  12. this is hilarious, wjwhatshisname, is obviously trying to make everybody think hes crazy, but its not crazy to make alot of hp. its crazy to think you can do all that crap on that budget.
  13. i guess the rhb series turbos all have ball bearings. i think thats what the b stands for, either way, its not too much differnt than your old turbo, cept bigger =]
  14. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh! every dork in a rs camaro wants to race now. dudes in pickups think their big ***** when they fly by my subaru =] not sure what its off of, it had 454 emblems on the side. it makes for a big ole hole in the hood.
  15. one thing that always made me nervous about using a junkyard carb motor, is that they usually run fat, all the time, which washes the walls of oil, and CAN make the rings last... less long. what about the na mpfi, i think that block is the same as carb compression, right?
  16. i still gotta fiberglass it in, and paint it, but i'll be able to quit using my headlight for a cold air intake
  17. i just pulled identical computers out of a turbo xt, and a na xt with the flapper maf. i think they are all setup for turbos from the factory, on the early ones anyway. the computers will never swap, between the early and late, as far as i know, different disty, and maf, so different circuits inside.
  18. it probably was a phish shirt, that said something like."the beauty of all nite live", or something phishy like that.
  19. its easy as pie =] do a search, for my previous posts on this(i think you can search by name). if you run into problems, pm me. wiring is the only issue.
  20. this is surely a board member. quick somebody check off topic for divorces.
  21. but... your arguing, so im worth pleanty of your time. thanks buddy =]
  22. thankyou, thats all i ever wanted to hear.
  23. GD your not helpfull, all you do is derail posts, and jump to conclusions. your comment about power steering being nessecary doesnt even have anything to do with this conversation. i was simply offering my opinion, based on helping with the install of morganms lift. didnt you hand your car over to some guy to install your lift for you? maybe you are just ignorant.
  24. big tars yo, its called real life experience. power steering is for wussies
