New to USMB
I find it outstanding this car has been owned by 3 other USMB members and now onto its forth. Original owner of this car from NC is MysteriousXT on here for shiz and gigz. The only think I would change would be the Nissan rims for Peugeot wheels or maybe even a five lug knuckle swap from an XT6. Lol, I have no drama over this car. Just keeping the facts straight.

Dude, I'm not starting anything with you. Point is, you make it like the past owner was wrong to trade this car for something else, personally, I would have done the same thing if I were in that spot. end of story. I am glad this car is getting a much needed EJ swap.

Better get your story straight instead of spreading false gossip. The Turbo Failed (Was getting cherry red) then a HG failed, the owner needed money to fix a roof, traded this car for a '89 Dodge Cummins Diesel which he flipped for the funds to repair the roof. Then moved on to the EJ chassis cars as they suite him better. I helped straighten out the wiring for the offroad lights on it, and also helped install both of those EMPI axles. The Nissan wheels were hogged out completely wrong and are a PITA to seat correctly. Originally, that car came from a member in NC, then to WI, then to northern peninsula.

Home Made Outback sport body lift
Don't forget, besides dropping front and rear cross members, you also need to drop the control arm mounting surface. 1x2 or 2x2 Square stock is a good start.

Loyale 4WD won't engage
A new Vacuum solenoid from the dealer is only $50. I bought a new one some time back due to the Diaphragm failing and allowing ATF to enter the intake. Seeing as you're in Canada or Australia, I dunno how close your local deal is?

How to remove glovebox, Gen 1 Legacy?
When you open the glove box (Bin as Chilton calls it lol) then gently squeeze in one side at a time (There should be a plastic stopper on the bin on each side of it) you want to pop that out of its grove so the bin swings down all the way. Then look at the hinges, there should be one philips screw holding each hinge to the dash. Then if you want to remove the liner from the dash (To get at any wiring) there should be a few screws or plastic clips holding that up. Cheers, -Tom

Its only $10,000 more then the USDM Landcruiser 200-series. If you're going to spend $70,000 on a SUV, it better be a Landcruiser.

Interior rip-out, Rhino Liner coating
TheLoyale replied to LokeDawgg's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXCorrect, there is no floorpan change throughout the '95-'99 Legacy or Outback, so yes, Outback WT mats would work in a Legacy. WT just doesn't want to be liable for anything I would suspect.

TheLoyale replied to LokeDawgg's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXa '98 Outback in most cases has a 2.5 DOHC motor vs the 2.2 SOHC of the Legacy, plus 4:44 gearing. Other then that, it just has longer strut bodies and a crossmember spacer front and rear. Springs are 100% the same as a Legacy. If you really wanted to get the most out of a Legacy or Outback, Outback struts, Forester springs and top hats. Or complete Forester strut assys is you can find them.

The 200-Series is extremely plush but can still hold its own. But I think this one is a little more capable, They need to bring this series to the USDM. http://www.toyota.com.au/landcruiser-70-series#range

For those of you running high-milage EJs, check the two coolant lines that run to the IAC. One of mine had a cut all the way down to the cords and didn't leak, best to replace them when you have the IAC off for servicing. Hose diameter is 5/16" Fuel line.

TheLoyale replied to LokeDawgg's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThe main problem with removing the carpeting and using a bed liner on the floor is, you have wiring that run under the carpeting which would need to be removed before painting.
