SPFI EA82 (Clearing Codes) ?
I'm a bit fuzzy on the whole "Clearing Code" thing with the EA82. Do you plug both the White and Green connectors in under the hood and then run the car? From what I've read else where, you have to: With engine hot, plug in Both sets of connectors while engine is running. Then drive the car over 7mph. D-Check, Plug in Green connectors with engine hot and off. Then turn the key to "On" push peddle to the floor then up half way for 2-sec, release and start car and drive over 7mph. I don't understand this, I can't get the Engine light to do anything other then come on and off once in a while. I can not get it to flash to read the codes nor can I erase the codes. What am I doing wrong? The reason I have this light was a faulty O2 sensor which I replaced. -Tom

No spacers for the rear doors, The front doors will need a spacer if you go with something deeper then 2.5" - These speakers have a 10oz. magnet aswell.

Wisconsin for the day
Eh, the guy who runs the place (Mike) always calls the EAs "Dinosaurs" and does ever do anything with them, thye mostly sit there wainting to be parted out. The under-sides of any of the cars are no good, so pulling anything off them thats under the car is pointless. I wouldn't bother trying to pull an Engine or trans from there, theres a few EA81s there with D/R trans. I think there are a few EA71s as well. As for EJs, he has a few EJs laying around and loads of parts for any engine. Your better off finding a donor car or someone selling an engine for your project. Cheers, -Tom PS: I have been out to Subaru Heaven about 4 times.

Water Pump/Fan nut size?
I thought all EA82s had both Electric and Clutch fans regardless of A/C or Non-A/C? Is the electric fan on a EA82 with A/C a secondary cooling fan, Or is it only for when the A/C is on and the extra load is on the engine?

Water Pump/Fan nut size?
Leaving off the Clutch Fan!? I'm sorry, but what is going to pull air through the Radiator with out the Clutch fan? Every vehicle needs a cooling fan, whether it being a Clutch fan that runs off the waterpump, or a electric fan which kicks in when needed. Since the EA82 has cooling issues as is, pulling a fan off it will not be a good idea, At least in my mind. Also, you are going to need to bolt the pulley back on anyhow, as you still need to run the V-belt for P/S and Alt. So why not just bolt the fan back onto the pump in the first place. -Tom

I think there was some talk and pictures about ammo boxes right here in this thread. Thats a lot of pages to look through. I've done a search for Ammo Boxes in the old gen section and this is the only thread it brought up.

I've seen some folks on here who install old Ammo boxes in the bed sides of their Brat. I think its kinda a cool idea.

I have Pioneer TS-G671M 260w 4-ways. Best speakers I have bought to date. I stick with Pioneer for my serious Audio needs.

The Brat doors are deeper then 2nd gen Legacy doors or the window assy is out of that way. I have Pioneer TS (Something or nothers) in all 4 doors. they are about 2-1/2" deep I will check out the Kickers though -Tom

Superu, No I couldn't use the plastic surround. The Speaker body was to large (Design is a little different then the Stock ones) so I just screwed them right to the door. I had to hammer up the hole lip aswell. And yea if I were to put these in the front, the window hits. Just goes to show EA82s are better Try looking at Pioneer, some of their speakers aren't as deep. I did everything Pioneer in my Loyale.

ac to air compressor conv.
Since you brought that subject up Chux, Yes trying to keep the stock A/C pump lubricated is gonna be the key point to this. If you run that pump dry its gonna burn up mighty quick. But you don't want enough oil where its going to be pushed into your added on Air hose assy. Also, you will have to watch what kind of lubricant you use as the wrong type could cause drag and still burn up the pump. That thin green A/C R-12 stuff acts as the lubricant for the pump.

LOL! I sooo agree!

Why not just get a ACC Air compressor and keep it in the car?
