Now I need to get better at welding Hehe, I don't think I need to worrie about burning a hold thru the pipes huh? My first time with doing fab work like this -Tom

How to: Incressing Boxer rumble? (EA82)
Hmm ok, Well, I got this picture from a retailer that CherryBomb promotes (forgot the name) on their site for buying online. I'll have to look at it better when I buy it (Make sure I'm getting what I'm getting) Ok, lets say I buy a length of pipe (Whatever size I need) How would I bend it to the same as the stock pipe for the OE muffler? Well maybe I'm not thinking right, i might be able to get anyway with not bending it alot (Forgot what it look likes under there) Eh, maybe I can figure it out once I have it and am doing it. Thanks for the info and the link! forgot about that page -Tom

How to: Incressing Boxer rumble? (EA82)
OK, went to CherryBombs site and found the Turbo muffler. Now theres 4 diffrent styles (All are ovel but the offsets change) so This one seems the closest to the stock Soob muffler (Offset wise) would this work well? I should be able to cut off the old muffler and reuse the piping from the old muffler correct? Cause I'm thinking of welding this muffler to the stock piping since the correct bends are already in place. btw, what size is the stock piping? 1-1/2? -Tom

How to: Incressing Boxer rumble? (EA82)
Caramanos, VHT is great! Wanted to ask, is there a part number for the Muffler you have, or are all the Cherry Bomb Turbo mufflers the same? Could you also post a picture of where it connects to the mid-pipe or stock muffler pipe, however you rigged it Thanks, -Tom

How to: Incressing Boxer rumble? (EA82)
Carfreak, thank you for the video! I like how you note it was "Free" twice hehe. Crayola, hmm doesn't look to bad just as long as you don't add those neon squirter heads Lol, but really, Looks cool. Soobie Doo, Awesome! What the part number on that one you have? I should be able to weld that to the stock muffler pipe that bolts to the mid pipe, right? GD, Oh I've seen that on some of those car shows on SpeedTV. They did that to a Mustang once (It did add to the deepness) Thank you all for your input and time! I think I'm gonna see about that muffler Soobie Doo has. I didn't know Cherry Bomb made other types besides Glasspacks. Cool! -Tom

1988 Loyale, coolant leak when warm
If you would like a great step-by-step write up on how to do the T-belts, Oil pump, Cam seals, water pump ect. Just type in Trashwagon.com then click "Miles Subarus" then you'll see "Service and repair" click that your good to go, Miles Fox did these write ups and they are the best I've seen, also have pictures on them for better guidence. Hope this helps you PS: MIlesFox is a member on here, but he hasn't been around in a while. He knows the EA82 insanly complete, front to back.. Also GD is another best bet, he knows what he speaks of -Tom

- CHAT is back!
I'm so happy this Chat works on my PS3!! My PS3 couldn't use the other Chat server (For some reason) Just dunno why on my end, its Dark blue (Text is hard to see, but I'll manage :-p ) -Tom- Check out my new wheels.
Nice, Looks great on a T-wagon! Now you just need some better tires (BFG makes good street tires for not to much) -Tom- How to: Incressing Boxer rumble? (EA82)
GD, yes there you go. that opend my eyes, Maybe I wasn't grasping it earlier (Been working long hours at work, been a bit out of it latly) Thank you for that write up, its plain and straight forward. Thanks again guys, Just been thinking on how to increse the sound. opend this thread -Tom- How to: Incressing Boxer rumble? (EA82)
Now that I think of it, the Displacement plays a big part in the rumble (1781cc) with adittion to the unequal headers, Firing order has nothing to do with it. Lol I've seen that civic (Talk about a fart can) Haha Caramanos, Thanks! Carfreak, yep I know this. thanks for the added info! -Tom- How to: Incressing Boxer rumble? (EA82)
Aha! I see, thanks Caramanos, can't use Glasspacks in WI- How to: Incressing Boxer rumble? (EA82)
I know the EA82 will never push out the true "Boxer sound" like the EJs but theres some rumble hidden, cause my video camera picks it up and you do here it inside (Dunno what it sounds like outside going down the road @ 3k?) -Tom- How to: Incressing Boxer rumble? (EA82)
4x4_Welder, Thats what I was thinking.. Thanks So if the unequal headers take away power, why did Subaru use them and still do IIRC? -Tom- How to: Incressing Boxer rumble? (EA82)
Rob, oh I was thinking he ment a cherry bomb (Can't run those in WI, due to they get old and start shooting hot fiberglass out so I've heard) Niku, its SPFI. GD, yes I know the unequal headers play a part in it but that can't be all..? Does't have anything to do with firing order? I can't cut the muffler off either (State law:rolleyes: ) Well if I would loose power I wouldn't want to do that either, hmmm.. Well its all good reads, I'll think about what I can do (Or just leave it as is) Thanks guys! -Tom- EJ POWER FTMFW !!!!! pics :)
Rob, Awesome!! Looks great pulling the wagon, "Thumbs up" is always sweet, makes ya feel good! after reading those specs you put up, I want an EJ now :-p So what left do you have to do on the sheet metel? Just paint? I would totaly do the Targa strip awell, Mick makes those Brat decals. Anyhoo awesome job, I've been wondering whats up with it since I havn't seen any thing new about it. -Tom- How to: Incressing Boxer rumble? (EA82)
The EA82T muffler is diffrent then the stock EA82 muffler? I heard they are the same? Anyhoo, So hell, if I buy a Turbo muffler, the bends for the pipe and the flange are the same, so it should bolt right in, correct? Thanks for this idea! -Tom- How to: Incressing Boxer rumble? (EA82)
Been wanting to increse the sound of my wagon somehow, but wasn't sure how to do it with out making my own exhaust. Now I know this might sound like a redneck Idea, but would adding a small hole in the muffler bring out the sound or make it sould like crapola? I would be sure to make the hole on the side so no hot air is blowing onto the body, just wanted some ideas. I can here the rumble when the engine has aload on it at lower RPMs but I would like it more pronounced. And before someone says it, I do need my Cats (Emissions in lower WI) Or my other idea, what muffler has anyone use that does such and isn't a PITA to install (Retrofit) Does anyone know if theres a Thruster muffler out there that would work (Still need to weld, I know that) But how does the hole idea sound to you guys? my muffler already has some rot spots (Might just help it along Lol) -Tom - CHAT is back!
