I almost forgot about this thread! Wow, that looks fantastic! There is no reason why a cheap Subaru, can not become something awesome. And you sure proved it.

My '83 GL: The Ski Wagon
Air lockers are about $800/pr for the Full-floating Toyota axles, so one for this tiny diff, shouldn't be as much. I agree there may not be a giant market for these. No company ever thinks about a trend. If someone would actually supply aftermarket parts for these vehicles, they might be a larger following. Jeeps wouldn't be where they are today if it wasn't for Aftermarket support, ARB being one of the larger ones. Same goes for VW, you can get whatever you want for a original beetle, floor pans, motors, complete bodies, JCWhitney carries a lot of it lol. WE NEED MORE AFTER MARKET FOR SUBARUS OTHER THEN STi...

So basically you're saying, You like Long Islands, but Long Islands don't like you so much? Haha! Now that we've taken a Subaru thread and turned it into an AA meeting...

Why Eaton hasn't made a Detroit or Air locker for the R160 is boggling. Perhaps I should write to them again, and see if they'll ever support the application. I would prefer an Air locker in the rear. Here is a thread I found with a little discussion about this. http://offroadsubarus.com/showthread.php?p=14675&highlight=lockers The R160 is still used on the 90s EJ Subarus correct? I know a diff from a Legacy will bolt up to my EA81, same case. I think there would be a large market in rear Air lockers for Subarus.

Whoops lol. Edited it. Should be "Air into the Oil system"

Replace the leaking seal(s) and run some Marvel Mystery Oil in with fresh oil. This will help condition other seals, clean valves, pistons and gunk, and your motor will thank you for it. You can also run some SeaFoam or ATF in the oil to clean out built up sludge which might be causing the tick. A consistent lifter tick in the EA82 is usually from Air getting into the oil system, via leaking cam seals, oil pump seal, Valve covers ect. Repair it once, and have a happy running Subaru. Using Stop leak fixes, is like putting Saw dust into a slipping Automatic transmission. It is not fixing anything, just an illusion.

Anybody know where this Power window unit goes? This stuff has been apart so long I have forgotten, plus I didn't take any good pictures during the removal. Not sure about some of these either.

My motivation comes from having no life, go to work, come home. lol... You will totally want to check your floor out, parts of mine, looked ok, until you used a wire wheel, then it was swiss cheese. Cut it all out, and replaced with Stainless! I went to Fastenal today, I managed to get the short 60mm bolts for the intake, in stainless. They have the longer 80mm bolts on order, and will have them next week.

So 2" X 25.4 = 51mm? That is helpful, Thank you. Being a Gradeschool dropout, I'm not a big fan of Math formulas, everything I've learned, I taught my self.

1984 GL Wagon Fwd Build
Found mine on ebay for like $19ish each. Some parts houses carry this brand in stock (Like Parts Hut/Bumper to bumper) I wonder if EA82 struts are the same as EA81 struts?
