Welds up real easy, and paint adheres fine too. Just using my Wirefeed Weldpac100, .035 fluxcore wire.

What Have You Done to your Soobie lately? (Please post in here and keep it going)
The first gen Legacy emblem is larger then the 2nd gen+ You could make the "I" badge fit, with a little body filler and some sanding. I am in the process of welding in Stainless floor patches and Pinch welds.

'87-'94 SPFI EJs are decent motors. I never had any issues with the motor, except for $50 sensors failing, and adamn PO420 Cat code. Insurance is gonna cost you a little more on the Impreza, but it might be equaled out since it has Dual air bags and ABS.

But you know the car is for the most part, reliable, aside from the Fuel Delivery issue. Getting a new (Old car) is always a crap shoot, you could be buying a problem child and then sink money into it, after you've spent money to buy it. For the $2,000 you would spend on an Impreza, you could toss in the Loyale, and have a new car lol.

You've already spent enough time and money on it, why do you want to buy someone else's problem? At least you know whats wrong with your currant car.

Yep. But the 6.5" still fit in the front, need to drill 3 new holes. And keep it concealed behind the door panel, for maximum clean install effect

My '83 GL: The Ski Wagon
When I was checking the brakes on the Loyale, I mounted up a Pug/Bighorn from it, to see how it would look/clear. I think I will stick with the 205/45/16 trailer wheel idea. My neighbor gave me another huge sheet of 18ga stainless, it still had the Laser protective coating on it which I had to peel off. I won't need to buy any more metal, thats for sure! Stainless patch welded in. I still have more then enough to remake the pinch weld and all the other patch panels I need! How much money in stainless do you think this sheet is?

TheLoyale replied to Red92's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThey are pretty cool, I wish Subaru would have done the tail lights all the way across the gate, like on prior models. You can see its a two piece tail gate, so hmmm?- 2003 Baja Sport
Looks like a 2" 3rd gen EJ lift?- My '83 GL: The Ski Wagon
I see the vehicle build threads have been moved into this sub-folder. Pretty cool! http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=81- The Awesome Vehicle Picture Thread

Haha, +1 I am so tired of hearing about the end of days. The only way "Human kind" will end, is if we keep going the way we are going with all the finances, perhaps we might face another economic meltdown, and won't recover like we have. Things will change drastically. Personally I don't care for politics, as long as I have money in my pocket, and can do what I want to do, I'm alright. If times get tough, I will adapt, but never change. I also welded on the rocker today!- The Awesome Vehicle Picture Thread
Ooo, I really need to get some pictures of a '71 LeMans in here... The Wheel man is back...!- My '83 GL: The Ski Wagon
I have started on the drive side rockers today, I cut off the old, I sectioned the new rocker, like I did before, I test fit the new rocker in place, and it'll fit like a glove. Then tomorrow, comes time to weld it in place, and start the repeat process over again, Spot weld, Pull into place, spot it, pull, spot it. Then lay down a solid bead! After I get done with all the welding, I will then buy some quality body filler, and remove the doors one last time, to finish off the seam. I am wondering how I am going to paint the rockers and door jams without removing the Doors again. Paint won't come till next year in my optimistic mind. This car isn't going to make the June 10th Don Miller show, but I will be damn if I don't get it to the Subaru City show on the 26th. There isn't gonna be a next year, since the world is coming to an end December 22nd HAHA!- 1984 GL Wagon Fwd Build
Sure rains a lot in Vermont. :-p- I found a N/A loyale dyno run video
They are little troopers and durable, because it is a Mitsubishi motor. Dodge couldn't make a decent late-90s motor/trans if they tried (Although the 360 is good)- The Awesome Older Generation Picture Thread
Who brought the Mirage Cyborg? Sorry, but thats not on the same level as the GL- What Have You Done to your Soobie lately? (Please post in here and keep it going)
Now now, it is not Pink. It is supposed to be Cherry Blossom Red, so I found a Cranberry paint which is a close match (Not perfect) but works Haha. Cheers! - The Awesome *NEWER* Generation Picture Thread
