My '92 Landcruiser: Safariwagon-II
You could just take the insurance off of one car and only drive it 6 months out of the year. Like the loyale, you wont drive that in the winter so it can sit with no insurance right.

No way your getting 17 with full time 4wd. My brothers got 10 and he had a full time 4wd 77 powerwagon. Its the full time that gets ya. Maybe look for a conversion kit so switch it out to manual hubs.

Now tom, your starting to sound like the self righteous suv people. Unless your rich, mpg hirts.

Nice, but fuel mpg doesnt bother you.

Alternator swap
I would recomend the maxima swap. I know the GM one is a good one but lots of fab work. If your worried about the maxima alternator, throw the old ea82 one in the back compartment and if it ever leaves you stranded then youve got an alt.

I will be most interested to see that car back on the road. It has been far to long.

Dude here
Youll find that these loyales, though finike are very reliable. Worst thing on them is the timeing belts. Though it is a non interference engine so if they break on you they wont destroy the engine. Look up things like rear disc conversions and lift kits for things to mod these vehicles. There fun, youll see.

Little Crazy Project Wagon Trailer
I duno man i would of left all 4 wheels on it. That way its supported to the ground better and you woulf of only needed a permanent tow setup to the front wheels. You would of lost plenty of weight loseing the engine, tranny and most of the interior. Also you could of put a sweet grill setup under the hood where the engine used to be.

Madison, WI - Subaru shops or clubs nearby?
At least if the header pipes and cat converter are good you just need to replace the pipe back from there which shouldnt be to bad. Brake lines, ive known people to junk cars because the expensive of replaceing whole lines front to back. Just look into costs and go from there. These are truly great cars and are worth investing some money into them.
