  1. hehehe... they're currently wading through a 10 page fax that probably burned up all of the toner in their fax machine. I've dropped a full color copy in the mail to them and another is going out to their local head office
  2. -shrugs- Guess I can... didn't wanna burn up USMB bandwidth and hosting space by putting the same attachment in both places. I originally posted this in O/T and Zap stickied it there and here... I'm not familiar with how the back end of these boards work so I didn't know it'd wind up as 2 separate threads like it has
  3. Hmmm... more like the clatter of gravel on the underbody as I throw the Brat around another corner in a flurry of 73hp powersliding! Yeah... I know what ya mean!
  4. Update in the O/T Thread
  5. Advance timing? Coupla degrees... Pretty much fill 'er up with whatever gas you're going to be running, advance timing then test drive it, no pinging? advance a little more... if it starts pinging then back it off again to where it doesn't ping while driving.
  6. Cheers! If you're able to get me pics I'd appreciate it! That way I know what to fab up as a replacement.

    CB Radio

I run a Uniden PC68XL with Mosfet ERF2030 final and a Astatic power mic into a Tram "Super Penetrator" magmount antenna in the middle of the roof of my Brat... I'm talking 35+ miles on that setup without an external amp. In regards to an SWR meter, Rat Shack (Radioshack) has a reasonable one for under $20 usually. Works just fine for an SWR tune... Otherwise scout around fleamarkets and garage sales.
  8. Your rim options are going to be limited unless you do a 5 lug conversion. Peugot 505 and 504 rims will fit as well as '80s 4 lug Subie factory alloys
  9. At first I wanted to go just for fun... now it's a matter of principle...
  10. Heck... here's where an EJ22T swap would be handy... nothin like burning all 4 down the judging strip to prove a point
  11. You could also peg a Weber onto it...
  12. OK, Here's the dealio, I was about to enter my '82 Brat in the 4x4 Show and Shine competition at when the 4x4 Jamboree Nationals come to Springfield, MO in a couple of weeks. I just got off the phone with one of the judges of the event and I am not allowed to enter the Brat because they do not allow it as a 4x4 unless it has a front drive shaft!! Talk about ticked off!! The consider it to be a 2wd vehicle. The judge said on the phone that it has to have a front drive shaft, the rules posted on their website say that it has to have both a front and rear differential. Who's up for joining me in lobbying them for a rule change? Rules can be found at: http://67.225.135.158/files/events/4wjsnsrules_10.pdf The exclusion they're claiming on the Brat is on the first page of that PDF just above the pic of the lifted Chevy

  14. Convert from a carb to an EFI setup.
  15. OK, new numbers on the Brat... Running 55mph 90% highway 10% city, getting an average of 28mpg this week...
  16. SPFI or MPFI Conversion, open the exhaust up a bit, EJ it
  17. OI!! Found some KILLER rims on tirerack... 16" for $59 each!! http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/WheelCloseUpServlet?target=runWheelSearch&initialPartNumber=9066K27PSL&wheelMake=AT+Italia&wheelModel=Presa&wheelFinish=Sil+w%2FPol+Stainless+Lip&showRear=no&autoMake=Chevrolet&autoModel=Avalanche+2wd&autoYear=2006&autoModClar=&filterSize=16&filterFinish=All&filterSpecial=false&filterBrand=All&filterNew=All&sort=Brand Here's a listing of vehicles I've found with the 6x139.7 pattern: Chevy: 1500 Pickup Avalanche (2wd) Mistubishi: Montero Nissan: Exterra Toyota: 4Runner Sequoia Landcruiser Tundra / T100 (From: http://www.megaperformance.com/boltpatterns.html) If you're wanting to go BIG (as in around a 20" rim etc) maybe look at the 8x139.7 lug pattern and just bolt on 4 of the lugs... better upgrade them brakes though!
  18. I'm installing the jump seats in my Brat this week, I know that the base part welds into the bed, and I can attach the TOP of the headrest bars but how do the bottom of them attach? I've not been able to find any pics etc. on here and a search hasn't proven very fruitful. Any help would be appreciated!!
  19. I've got a Dynomax/Thrush Mini Turbo sitting in the garage. Can't decide if it's going on the Brat or on the '88 wagon
  20. MEET IS CANCELLED DUE TO LACK OF RESPONSES. May 17th, 2008 At my place! (just east of Springfield on Highway 60) We can meet in Marshfield (I44, Exit 100) and I'll lead the charge to the house (about 16mi) or I can PM you directions. Time: 11:00am - 4:00pm (can always fire up a bonfire in the evening if people want to hang around that long) I'll be providing grill(s) with charcoal, plates etc. iced tea, soda and the venue. BYO meat for grilling and something to share (chips, 'tater salad, slaw, etc.) I've got space to park AT LEAST 30 cars here and we're in the middle of dirt road territory. I've got a few corners scouted for if we wanted to stage a few cameras around and get some good action photos. Otherwise we could cruise into Springfield in the afternoon, there's a parking deck downtown that'd be ideal for group pics. RSVP here so I can figure what supplies I'll need.
  21. Thanks for the advice! I've not had any experience on sheet metal at all, I do have a trusted friend at work who is a master welder so I'm going to con him into doing the welding for me. My worry is that that particular part of the body has a small return into the wheel well that is now rotted through and I wasn't sure about duplicating that detail. In terms of patch piece fitment I was planning on cutting the patch about 1/2" larger than I actually need and then flanging that excess so it will sit inside the existing metal (hope that makes sense!!) I figured it'd give me better coverage and less to have to fill with body filler (although I've also toyed with doing some body soldering on it just for old times sake)
