Dual Belt Pulleys??
Correct on all counts, in this case the AC pulley has poor wrap on it. It's a moot point now anyway. The front right brake caliper seized onto the brake rotor last night so the car isn't going anywhere for a little while.

Dual Belt Pulleys??
Cheers... the second belt will skip the Alt. I figured that if the first let go then I'd certainly know about it before I over heat due to lack of coolant flow!!

Dual Belt Pulleys??
OK, so I've finally got my '88 DL 5spd wagon back to running condition. I have to make a 30 mile trip into town to get it inspected prior to licensing it. Question is this. I currently have 1 belt on it, that belt runs PS, ALT, AC, and Waterpump. I know I can get a second belt for it from the shop that I'm going to tomorrow but do we reckon it'll be OK to run with just 1 belt for the trip into town?

Wagon Stopped Running
Pop the t-bely covers and confirm that BOTH are intact. Then check and tighten all connections to the starter. If the switch was shot it should still crank if you jump a wire to the starter off the battery.

87 brat tonneau cover
A soft one like the Aussies run?? Best bet would be http://www.ebay.com.au Otherwise I'd snag a few pics off the internet and find someone local who can make one for you. Any place that does canvas awnings, or maybe even most auto upholstery stores can do it for you. If you can find someplace that makes new tops for convertibles then they could do it for you for sure!!

cheap, free, or trade for weld help. WA
Ooops... hadn't noticed the front chop earlier... Definitely would have to re-locate the radiator also, as mentioned, a Top Mount radiator could work but you would lose storage space for your spare wheel.

Any one have any pictures of lowered EA82's?
Fair call... depending on the set-up you have (engine/trans/driving style) you should see upwards of 280 miles out of a 10 gallon tank A 12 gallon one will run you about $110 off Summit Racing (http://www.summitracing.com p/n SUM-290107)

Does anyone have pics of a shaved EA82 wagon?
You mean something like this??

I think you'll run into issues with the fuel tank location. I.E. it isn't there anymore once you've hacked that much out of the rear of the car.

Aussie Brumby's didn't have them because there were no seats in the bed. They're an access step so you can climb into the bed without having to open the tail gate.- GlobeTrottin' Fool
WHAT IS IT? Looks like an EA81 front end but the back is EA82 and they've got a different grill in it...- Sound system
Well I'll be a sainted eunuch... I stand corrected! Thanks Hatch!- Sound system
biggest issues you'll run into are the size of a modern head unit (wider than the original) and also the weird wiring of the speakers in the Subies (common ground) Scosche makes an adapter so you can fit a bigger radio in. **CLICKY** if you're just connecting to existing speakers then you can probably splice into the existing speaker cables, if installing new ones then run new lines.- GlobeTrottin' Fool
15hrs 15mins out of LAX this time around... At least you're on the correct coast, we had to catch 2 flights to get from the midwest out to LAX and then a 5 hour lay-over before the flight to Melbourne. Total transit time of just over 25 hours- 2000 OBW... advice??

It's his personal car. He said the TB's etc. were done at the 110,000 service and I'm going to look over the records also. I'll check the other stuff out but it looks like that's going to be the wife's new ride :brow: Guess I better teach her to drive stick eh?- 2000 OBW... advice??
Looking at this baby tomorrow... 149,500 miles, 5spd. Looks good in the pics and the price is good for our area ($5900)- GlobeTrottin' Fool
Australia... I have family coming over in September... could probably work something out if you were serious about it- GlobeTrottin' Fool
@ CD, was a great time visiting with the family! They're a little pissed at us for having a 1 year old daughter 12,000miles away from them so we have to pay our occasional penance by making the long flight! @ Durania, I've got a few more around I think, the camera kept getting filled up by the wifey snapping pics of our daughter at the beach so it was a little bit of a struggle :-p - 2000 OBW... advice??
