the EG33 is the engine found in all the SVX's from 92-97 i believe.... -
my knowledge of the SVX is limited but i should also prob. read some on http://www.cars101.com as posted above.....but i know the 3 main things in which SVX's have problems is transmission overheating, wheel bearings going bad, and they have a tendency to warp brake rotors rather quickly.....I also know the SVX was only available in an automatic and there were FWD and AWD versions.....i would say the majority of SVX's ive seen have been pretty good until around 100k than you start developing problems........ again like Jamal said....hit up cars101.com the info in like endless.....

question

im assuming that you have 4 headlights....2 high beams and 2 low beams.......i would check for power and ground at the headlights sockets but going off what your telling me it sounds like a switch problem..... -
so i was taking a look at my 96 legacy today and i had it up on a lift and i started shaking the passanger front wheel to notice any movement....i noticed a little movement when i grasped the wheel at 6 and 12 oclock and gave her a shake....enough movement that you feel it but you cant really see it.....i also grasped the tire at 3 and 9 oclock and i had NO movement there....the ball joints are good and the tie rods are good.....i did take a look behind the wheel and i notice NO movement where the axle meets the hub when i give her a shake.......i notice no noise when coming from there while driving.......my question is how much movement is considered "normal"?.....i dont belive its my wheel bearings....because i dont hear anything........any help would be appreciated......

well not that it doesnt do harm on anything but you could always throw in the FWD fuse if its an automatic......... i remember in the late 90's it was by the shock tower and i think they moved it to the fuse box on some models.......by the way does anyone know what year they stopped offering the FWD fuse holder on Subarus?

im not exactly sure what years this took place on but i believe it started in like 97 or 99 and it might just be on the 2.2 L....right after startup there were some noises coming from the engine because of new internal componants that subaru considered normal with no fix available.....what kind of engine is it? does it ONLY happen right after you start the car? does it go away when the car is warmed up? Is there a certain RPM range were it occurs?...........is it a grinding? tapping? knocking?
