  1. I would agree, that is way too high. The seller knows the HG is blow I bet and looking to dump the car on an unsuspecting buyer.
  2. I agree, I have been working on all my own cars for 20 years now and have never had anything more than hand tools. Air tools are nice but you don't need these for brakes or much anything else. If nothing else get a electric impact.
  3. The Subaru additive is for phase II (00-04) 2.5 motors that blow HG externally, the phase I (96-99) blow them internally. There is not much you can do but cross you fingers and hope for the best. With Phase I motors it is not a matter of if they will blow but when they will blow.
  4. I did not know 91 was back in fashion! Sweet ! I agree FM modulators are junk, I have tried several and none of them work well at all. I am glad my old school radio has a aux plug.
  5. I am running that now, so far so good. I switched over from Mobil 1 since I am no longer driving 600 miles to and from work a week. I have not noticed any difference so far in mileage or cold start ups, but it is summer time & has not gotten cold yet.
  6. I want to get a new cover for my car, got some crappy one now. Do you think I can still get an oem mask? Any others out there any good?
  7. Also if I get stuts off an outback, how hard will it be to replace the tophats with the ones off the current struts? Or would I just swap out the springs and use the outback struts and tophats. -R
  8. Congrates! I love the LS models, I have had two. Does this an auto or manual? Does it have the height control system? -R
  9. Ok so if I just used the struts then it is pretty easy and I will get like 2 inchs of lift?
  10. Thanks! Will I get different lift if I only use the struts? What about if I use struts and springs? Will these give me diffent lift heights?
  11. Hello all been away for a bit, on the road way to much for work, but have a new job now working from home. I finally have the time to swap in some outback struts/springs/ and 15" wheels to my 91 LS legacy wagon. Is this a direct bolt up? Does anyone have a write up on this? How much do you think I can sell my 14" teardrop wheels for? Thanks!
  12. That is what I have heard also, just wanted to make sure my info was not bad. I have never heard anything but good about them.
  13. Anyone here anything back about them? My brother blew his motor in 92 and I told him about ccr. But his shop in Westminster told him that he has had lots of problems in the past with their motors. ??
  14. I should have clarified faster than high mpg hybrids; vehicles in the 50+ mpg range, none of the ones listed above get even close to that. Plus there is not argument about longevity of a diesel compared to a hybrid. Another big down side of current hybrids you cannot maintain them yourself. You cannot even do oil changes on them safely without the proper grounding equipment.
  15. I would love to see this come to the states my old vw tdi got nearly 60 mpg and was way faster and easier to maintain than a hybred.
  16. This is totally true, when my airbags blew they wanted to give me $1500 for my 96 obw, ended up fighting and got $4900.
  17. I think we found the cause of the syndrome, but that will be another post. We actually have a great mini van, a 06 Honda Odyssey, great mini van but we need another vehicle that can hold three. And my wife wants me to get something newer and safer.
  18. I recently found out we have baby number three on the way. I have been a loyal subaru guy for years, and want to stick with a subaru legacy wagon; I have not interest in the Tribeca. Anybody out there have a 05+ legacy and have you been able to fit 3 child seats in the back seat? I looked at a few Volvo XC70 cross countries but after reading this I am afraid of them maintenance wise. I love the rear seat and built in child seats.
  19. Neither of them are worth much, get yourself a FSM, this is the only way to go unless you are looking for info on oil changes and wiper blade replacement.
  20. Great info! Thanks! AutoZone has a wells for 43.99 but I can get it at 1st roo parts for $50, so not worth the hassel for non oem.
