  1. Ah the joys of trouble shooting. If you have ruled out the following culprits : timing, vacuum leaks, fuel pump, and carburator. Then it still comes down to lack of fuel or spark. So it could be the coil or the fuel tank/fuel lines. I had a very similar problem with my EA81 Brat. I changed everything, swapping coils ended up fixing everything.
  2. Car : 1986 EA82 TBI 3sp Auto. Symptoms: 1. Hard or No start when hot. (have to wait 30-45 min to re-start) 2. Stalls upon idle, or low rpm. once warmed up. (have to wait 30-45 min to re-start) 3. Stumbling at highway speeds. (no backfire) Cure: Well I'm thinking it's the fuel pump, but the hard/no start when hot issue makes me think possibly the Air or Coolant temp sensor. Any thoughts????
  3. The fuel pump electrical supply is complicated in the first gen cars. I would slap in a generic electric pump and direct wire it to a trusted electrical source, or direct wire the existing pump. If it stays running problem solved (or problem by-passed). I would do this prior to any tinkering with the carburator.
  4. Here are a couple of his stripe kits "in action" . Good stuff, don't let your subaru rockers ride naked.
