  1. These plastic trim pieces were never designed to be removed. I usually try to not crack the trim piece itself and expect the mounting tabs to break. Then either drill a hole and mount with screws or toggle bolts.
  2. Value and worth are very subjective. However A non running car will always be worth less than a running car. Scan the classifieds, craigslist, ect to get an idea of what you should ask.
  3. been struggling w/ the same issue. have replaced everything except the distributor. Funny it is not a problem in the winter, only in the summer.
  4. http://expeditionportal.com/ Great web site for anything and everything on off grid vehicles. Also has a thread for off grid expedition subarus.
  5. The 4wd models are more desirable for obvious reasons, however finding a 4wd that is not destroyed is hard these days. My best subaru scores seem to be unmolested 2wd auto tranny cars. Luckily the 2wd cars are cheaper, and they are almost always in better condition. The 80-82 models have the solid headlight set up, in my opinion the best of the gen 2 years, nice score.
  6. Been a while since I updated this thread here are some new additions to the stable. This little 1988 sedan I bought because it had brand new tires, the rest of the car was a bonus. Its parts are living on in the tan 1986 sedan. This 1989 coupe I bought for the dual range 5speed Tranny, Drove it last summer but the engine needs a major rebuild, Currently off the road. And last but not least my recent addition of a 1983 gl fwd auto. wagon. Luckily it lived its life in the city parked over asphalt, and garaged. It's 85% rust free, which for a lifelong New England car is rare. Plan to convert it to 4wd with some brat parts. Been on the lookout for for a gen 2 wagon without major basketball size rust holes for a while.
  7. The "sportswagen" trim line, any other examples out there?
  8. All of my EA82 cars have had idiot lights stay on permanently at one time or another. My current daily driver EA82 has had the idiot light on for the last 5 yrs and I commute 100 miles daily in it. I usually get bored/frustrated with chasing down codes, wires, ect.. and end up covering the idiot light with black tape. Happy code hunting.
  9. The SRX . So what does SRX stand for ? Subaru Rally Xtreme ?
  10. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Subaru-BRAT-GL-/141984474320?forcerrptr=true&hash=item210eef24d0:g:Kp0AAOSwn9lXKTtR&item=141984474320
  11. Looks like all 3 cars came from the same person. They all have the same type of mold growing on the glass. I also spy a GL-10 Turbo in the background of pic #1
  12. start with getting 1 corner out first. be patient and don't force anything. I have some old flat head screwdrivers that I grinded smooth the corners. you will need about 3-4 screwdrivers. a spray bottle w/ soapy water can also help.
  13. Well If all 3 of us show up, it would set a record of gen 1 cars in attendance. Actually at that event early Legacys are considered gen 1. I suppose a WBM thread should be started, we have veered far off sticker talk.
  14. Here is how I installed the rocker stripe kit on my rig. Kept it about 1 inch up from the bottom door edge.
  15. went to the subaru company website. 23222GA120 is also listed as 723222020 , 723222021 , 723222022 , 723222040 , 723222041 , 723222042 AND 723222043 They are all different prices, but they all match the same application for 28323A (inner CV Boot) Think I will need to investigate more on why the subaru parts website has mutiple different part numbers , with different prices , for the same application? Thanks for listing the part number.
  16. looking for a source or a part number for inner cv joint boots for front 4WD axles for EA82. Been using the generic ones, and they don't last very long.
  17. You need one of these, a strong tree, and some strong rope. happy pulling.
  18. I would spend most of your $ on a good primer (rustoleum rusty metal, ect). That will make more of difference over whatever type of rattle can white top coat you use.
  19. http://www.uniquecarsandparts.com.au/colour_codes_subaru.php pretty comprehensive list here. if I knew how to make this a sticky I would.
  20. NADA, Kelly Blue book, ect. = just government tools to rip off citizens is states that tax cars, no basis in reality. A used car is worth what someone is willing to pay for it period.
