Well not much subaru hunting in the cold winter, but I made a rescue at the local dump yesterday. Found a nice second revision edition of a Subaru Idiot Guide, sitting on a stack of old magazines/newspapers to be recycled. Keep your eyes peeled fellow subaru treasure seekers.

Looks like a similar design to these. I have a set on these on a lifted outback. They work better than the stock ones if you have a lift. Heri doesn't make them for the EA82's. Looks like this company is making them for EA82's, I'll give them a try. I keep ripping inner boots on my stock axles on my lifted EA82. If its not a metal to metal sound (grinding, clicking , ect) then it may be a loose piece of fender trim, loose mudflap, or the plastic wheel well insert is loose. Sounds like you need a passenger to stick their head out of the window and take a look at it while your driving.
