- What tools and spare parts do you guys carry?
I am in no way endorsing Harbor Freight tools, they are complete junk. However they do sell a 130 piece tool kit (part # 69331) that fits perfectly in the trap door storage area of any EA82 wagon. If you wait for a sale you can get it for less than $30. Plus if it gets stolen, or you forget it on the side of the road after a repair.....who cares.- Roll call for lifted Soobs 2015. 1988 GL Dual Range 5speed 2" lift 14" pug alloys Rear disc brake conversion BEFORE AFTER BEFORE AFTER BEFORE AFTER- rodent stank removal heater core.
thanks for all the tips, I now have a problem w/ the vacuum canister not working so I will probably have to swap out the whole unit anyway.- My Stable of Subaru's
The 1986 frankenwagen and the 1994 loyale have been taken off the road for now, but I have a 1988 dual range 5speed that I should put on this thread, so here you go.... As found rusting away and sinking into the ground. After a clean up and fluid flush and new gas tank And now after a 2" lift and 14" pugs.- The Subaru Search and Rescue Thread
So the red wagon that started this thread got some upgrades recently, New clutch, 14" Pugs, Rear disc brake conversion, New exhaust, and a 2" lift. Splurged on some fuzzy seat covers since it will be used by the GF this winter. Hopefully she will will go easy on the clutch this season. The 88 blue coupe is the next rescued subaru to be put back on the road, Got it all legal for ther road. Stay tuned. Post up your subarus saved from the crusher, and keep on searching!- rodent stank removal heater core.
So I began working on my 88gl ea82 coupe, to use as my new winter beater, Its been sitting for the last year waiting its turn. Unfortunately the mice and other woodland creatures turned my heating system into low income housing. I have replaced the blower, and chucked the A/C unit. I have cleaned the main flap door on top of the heater core (passengers side), but I can't get to the other flap door (drivers side). I have blown out the entire system w/ compressed air. Any ideas of cleaners to spray to get the stank off of the drivers side flap. Since I cant get my hand in there I was thinking of spraying can of Kills Primer, or some other paint. I have a spare heater core unit, just looking for ideas to avoid having to take the whole dash out.- The Awesome Older Generation Picture Thread
I am contemplating doing the same type of conversion with a ea82 coupe. It all ready has 2 doors, and removing the big back bubble hatch should make for a good start on building the bed area. I wish subaru had done a 3rd generation brat, I guess it is up to us to make it happen now.- The Awesome Older Generation Picture Thread

- 1976 DL 1600 Dilemma
Looks awsome. As excited as you are to take your new classic for a spin, you may want to read up on all the wonderful chemicals that NY puts on its roads. A lot of the chemicals are water activated. So you may think the roads are clear of salt and sand on a nice dry sunny winter day, but your undercarraige is still getting dusted with calcium chloride and other chemicals. Then when you go to your local car wash to spray off the underside.....you have just activated the chemical process to start deystroying your car. The stuff they lay down now will destroy a car way faster than simple salt and sand. It is your car to enjoy as you see fit, just educate yourself.- Just First Generation Subaru Photos!
