Maintenance on a 2.2l Legacy
bratman18 replied to stephenw22's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXGreat along the same lines just a little different and newer! But the driveline is relatively bulletproof and the rest is pretty straight forward like the loyales! But they don't have the same clearance and they are much heavier. Thats my opinion!

1988 GL wagon rust issues
Any idea how much a rust free carcass would cost to ship??? I would love to get a rust free brat or hatch but I live in Maine so it would be a long trip to get it!

EA81 oil pump
I was recently putting new gaskets and o-rings on my oil pump and didn't find the little spring when I took the oil pump off. Should I be concerned?! And will it work without it?

New lift is in!
Does anyone know if they make the rubber brake hose on the front strut any longer? I would like to get one to fit with the 3'' lift. I would rather do that than extend the steel line but I will if I have to!

Fuel pump longevity : a poll
bratman18 replied to frag's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI have changed very few due to failure! Don't replace it till it goes, they rarely go so it wouldn't be practical and would be very over preventative maintenance!

New lift is in!
The only pics I have are what you guys saw. We used a tubing bender and a jig for cutting the fish mouths in the end but other than that it was a lot of measuring and figuring!! The way it was attached was, we removed the lower radiator support with an air chisel so that just the bare frame rails were showing and then used a piece of small channel for the new radiator support. Then we bent up the bumper and welded it to the channel where the tubing met it. I cut my fenders off just below the trim.We followed the line of the front grill for the top of the bumper and the added the hoop, which I personally love!! At the time my friend wanted to start making that kind of stuff for sale but now he kind of went downhill in his life so you can follow what mine looks like but unfortunately I can't have any made!

- opinion on towing
bratman18 replied to 86subaru's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI had a friend that towed a double axle car trailer with a brat on it with his 86 ea82 D/R and it did fine except for steep hills!- Hey guys/'93 legacy
bratman18 replied to Tizbitz's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI know that wrx spring would fit because I used them on mine and loved them!!- New lift is in!

I got my lift all in but the brat is still not done! I still gotta get the motor dropped back in and weld pieces on the back to finish the rear quarter chop. But it's getting there!! Can't wait to drive it!!!- using doughnut spare wheels
I used the 2 wheel drive 14'' wheels on my old ea82 and beat the crap out it and never had any issues i continued to use the car as my daily driver and never had any problems! A friend of mine used them on his as well and was even harder on them than I was and never had any issues! We always used a little bit wider rim and never had any rim pinching problems so my experience of prolonged use was excellent!!! This was before I found my pug rims and wanted bigger tires!- EA81 motor mounts
I could not find them on that site and whats a decent price because I am looking for cheap, tight budget! But if you can tell me where to find them on this site that would be great!- EA81 motor mounts
This mount looks nothing like what mine look like So I guess I will keep looking!- EA81 motor mounts
I posted in wanted forum too but anyone got a set of decent motor mounts for an ea81 that they would let go for a good deal?!?! Please it's keeping me from putting my motor back in!!! Thanks- *SJR Group Buy * EA81 4" lift *Group Buy* Sept 08
I love the new design!! That looks super strong and so clean cut!!!! Nice work:headbang:- Opinions needed.
I did a 3'' home built on my brat but is based on one from sjr but with a few differences. I used adjustable front struts and then spaced everything down but didn't drop the rear pumpkin as much but its a little different with the ea82 body style so good question? Which will give you more clearance and let you fit the big tires at the same time?!?!? That's what I would go with:headbang: - opinion on towing
