  1. Hey All. Haven't been on here in a while. (2 Years). I sold my old wagons and ended up in an 05 STI. Still driving it but am looking at an old XT6 to replace the two that I used to have. Figured I come back and say hi and get active again. Thanks, John
  2. I think there's either a vacuum leak or an emulson tube thats clogged in the carb. I'm making my way through the threads to learn about carb tuning now. I can't complain about the car. Rust free, 175K, 4wd works, good tires and still gets 28mpg. I only payed $200.
  3. I've got an 87 EA82 Wagon and I'm having a few issues. My Idle is a bit high. (1400 rpm) and The rig starts perfectly cold. after a trip to town and a warmup, the car needs to crank for about 10-15 seconds to finally start. I'm going to verify my timing tonight as occasionaly it diesels upon shutoff. After timing, I'm going to look for vacuum leaks. Any opinions on where to go from there?
  4. I didn't know rust belt Subies were that bad. I should send my 84 back as a donation.
  5. http://www.diyautotune.com/tech_articles/how_to_megasquirt_your_subaru_rx_turbo.htm you'll have to enter values but it's something to start from.
  6. Question, you don't happen to have a parts list from your transmission swap do you, I'm doing one myself and wanted to double check myself. Also, What happened to your EA82? If you were getting rid of it I would be interested.
  7. I'm with Jerry, I would love one. I always wanted an EJ22 with a set of Weber IDF's.
  8. http://prosportgauges.com/instructions.aspx Not sure which is yours but here's the archive of gauage wiring diagrams
  9. Miles, Thanks for the reminder about the flywheel and clutch. I shouldn't have to worry about the 4wd vacuum solenoid as I'm going to the manual dual range. I just won't have the 4wd lights on the dash. about the CV's, will have an issue with the turbo front hub spline count versus the non turbo trans splines.
  10. Your A/F readings will not be accurate without a Wideband O2 Sensor your meter will always bounce around like a metronome. If it was me I'd wait and install a dedicated Wideband and weld a bung into the downpipe just aft of the stock sensor and use both O2's.
  11. The car is an 86 so I'm not too sure I'm going to look at it tonight. I think its push button.
  12. I'm looking at buying an EA82 turbo wagon bith a bad auto transmission. I'm hoping to swap to a D/R 5 speed and so far have a donor JY vehicle and wanted to see i'f I've missed anything. I'm looking at Trans with crossmember Driveline Console Front CV axles (need replacement) Pedal cluster and Clutch cable I was wondering if I need anything else and if I even need the driveline. Also, With the D/R swap what considerations will I need to keep in mind to retain Cruise Control?
  13. I just did the same thing last month! Works amazing! Great job.
  14. I its the same spoiler that was on the wagon, I have a NOS one for sale along with a Water pump, clutch, bike rack and a wagon rear cover. All NOS.
  15. If you end up replacing the clutch, I'll sell you my NOS clutch kit.
  16. I grabbed a metra dash kit for a loyale. It was the one with the 6 in wide by 3/4 in snap out cover under the radio. I left that plastic cover out and as able to fit the dash mount cup holder from a gen 1 Legacy in the empty slot. You have to recess the top two corners of the dash kit and drill two holes for the front mount of the cup holder then use zip ties around the cd player to hold the rear. I'll post up some pics tonight. It only took me ~20 minutes to build.
  17. well, depending on price I'd be interested. shipping might hurt though
  18. What do you guys have in your gen 2's. I was looking for something new. Also, do gen 3 seats drop in?
  19. The windshield you are looking for is number FW417. ask any glass shop and they should be able to order it. also get a new gasket if you can. it makes life a bit easier and helps seal the windshield better
  20. So about a week ago, a guy stopped at my house and asked a bunch of questions about my 84 GL wagon. He said that he owned nearly the same car and had a few parts left over if I wanted them. Of course I said yes and asked if I could buy them off him. He kindly declined and just told me that it would be great to get them out of his garage. So today he showed up with a nearly pristine factory service manual, a NOS in the original wrapping and box water pump and clutch, a new factory bike rack, air deflector for the hatch and a perfect cargo area cover that matches the interior of my rig. Talk about lucky. He told me he'll be back over this weekend and he may still have parts. So I guess it's wait to see what happens!
  21. Has anyone ever replaced the ignition switch with an aftermarket unit. I wanted to leave the shell of the switch in the column to support the steering shaft and wire the electricals to a generic switch. Does anyone know what the five wires run to?
  22. Is this the guy with the white wagon? If needed I may be able to pick it up for ya. Were you interested in that gallon of chemical rust inhibitor?
  23. About 4 years ago I sold my White 89 XT6. Biggest mistake of my life. I loved that car. I sold it to a kid in Tumwater WA. I found his youtube channel and brought up a ton of memories. I have my tax return on the way and want to buy it back. I messaged the kid but wanted to see if it changed hands to someone on the Board. Its a pearl white 89 manual car with checkered seats, a ghetto 2.5 inch exhaust with a flowmaster super 44 i installed in a hurry, working airbags and a handmade brush guard. Heres a link to a video I found from 2 years ago. Help me find my Baby!
  24. I found the Transdapt adapter for the EA82 but is there an equivilent for the EA81? Am I stuck with Weber only parts?
