  1. i gotta wait till saturday but at least that gives me another day to get the brat one step closer to being ready, gratned, it still wont be pretty.
  2. soo, um yeah, does anyone want to meetup with me when i get close? i still dont quite remember how to get there, lol. nor do i know what entrance to use or where to pay to get in. im lost i guess. but on a good note, i got paid today!! *does happy dance*
  3. yeah, mine are starting to show some wear, but they havent been used in well over a year, besides, they are tarmac tires only. basically tarmac rally tires from whati can figure. they were on the rx when i got it years ago.
  4. next year? im still trying to figure out whats going on this year at the show. figured that id at least ask while i am here, does anyone have a spare carb just incase mine is buggered, i got the wrong rebuild kit from the parts store and had to make my own gaskets for some of the parts last night. that and it was the first time i have ever worked on a carb, so i have nbo idea of how well i did on it:-\
  5. looks like the "h" rims i have. i did it the lazy way, rattly bombed the wheels and sidewalls on the tires at the same time, permanent tire shine:grin: ......
  6. i guess if i get the brat going, ill bring my bike, not sure aabout he gf though, she might bring hers too.
  7. me no likey spiders. well, it would figure, ive hit another snag on the carb issue, the store sold me the wrong kit. this one looks like its for what i am guessing is the carb fro an ea82 car. the gaskets are clost, but the spacing is different and the openings are a tiny bit larger. i have no luck sometimes
  8. thanks, hopefully, i can get ahold of my friend today, he said that he would help rebuild the car for me if i helped him move over the weekend, so i am hopuing he will keep with that. its soo close, but at the same time, soo far away. its driving me nuts
  9. not a bad deal, if i remember correctly, B/A uses a lot of oem parts repackaged in thier boxes. and the parts they do make themselves are generally good as well. i used to work for advance, lol, so i know a little bit about he parts they carry.
  10. i is scared about breaking something on the carb trying to rebuild it myself, ive never worked with carbs before, im all about fuel injection and turbos. i just dont want to rist breaking the carb or a part from it and not being able to fix it in time for the show. ive been trying to get ahold of my friend all day, but he doesnt always answer his phone, unless he wants me to do something for him, typical i guess:-\
  11. dont forget the spicey burgers!!! all i gotta do is rebuild a carb and get the engine going and ill be set.
  12. i still dont know what i am doing as far as know if i am going to try to stay up there somewhere saturday night or if ill just come back home and drive back sunday. i know my gf is coming with me, but like i said, i dont know i i am staying up there over night, its not that far of a drive from maryland, about an hour and a half if i remember correctly. i still have to get the coffee though.
  13. sooo, umm, yeah, i am clueless when it comes to carburetors and rebuilding them. i got the rebuild kit, but im afraid that ill break something trying to take it apart. i started on it, but i cant get some of the parts off and some of the screws are a bit "tight". i jsut dont want to strip anything or break anything that i might not be able to fix or replace before the weekend.
  14. as far as the fuel pump is conerned, its been replaced and ive already bypassed the relay since it is very dead, lol. ive got a spare any deiseling valve thingy and a carb rebuild kit on the way, so in thoery, i should be ready by friday.
  15. i am going to try to get more of hte charcoal brick thingys that i got the opther week, they are like $.99 each, so ill grab a few before i head out.
  16. hmmm, just wondering, could the anti diesel valve cause the fuel to not make it through the carb? the original owner had a brand new valve in still in the box with the brat when i got it. i cant remember why he said that he got it, but i think he said that he had fixed the issue that caused him to get it in the first place. ive got the carb parts on the way, should have everything by tuesday, but i am getting a little worried that i might not be able to get it running in time. i guess i am just paranoid.
  17. looking very nice there connie. cant wait to see it in person/:banana:
  18. well, i actually managed to get a carb rebuild kit and a new float ordered up today, i should have em by tuesday... i was worried that i wouldnt be able to get a replacement for all the parts, but it looks like the kits come with everything i need. ive heard that people generally have good luck with the gp-sorensen kits. just beware if you go to advance auto parts, they have a good price on the rebuild kit, but the float is about twice the price of everyone else, at least in my area. make sure that you shop around before you buy. i just ope that i can get the parts and get the carb rebuilt and the engine running in time for carlisle.
  19. this is where my problems coe into play, not enough time to fix the problems that pop up.
  20. yeah, even though i am now working again, i still have to be mindful of what i spend. personally, id love to convert to fuel injection, but for hte time being, i need to just get the car running reliably. some how, i need to do it before saturday. i have a friend that is a mechanic that said that he will rebuild the carb for me, but sofar, its getting hard to find the kits for it in the stores. i have to try to find somewhere that can get it same day or the next day by the latest.
  21. you got one with the adaptor for me? id love to run a webber on it until i can finish my turbo engine that i am working on, but at the moment, its a bit out of my price range i havent even got my first paycheck yet and its basicaly spent already:lol:
  22. i replaced the pump today, but it still wont start. the old pump was definatly buggered. looking at the carb, at least at the window, its getting fuel. yesterday the level was just at the dot, after i changed the pump and tried to start it, the level is nearly to the top of the window, about half way between the dot and the top of the window anyway. i am thinking that there might be some crud built up from the car sitting so long and also being run at such a low fuel level the last time it was run. my friend mentioned that the accelerator pump might be rotted from sitting for so long. i guess it wouldnt hurt to get it rebuilt, especially since it doesnt look like i can get em new, lol.
  23. sorry to hear that man, sucks to have to put em down.
  24. there is a chance that i might be on track for getting the brat done this weekend. i just picked up a spare fuel pump to try to get it running again.
  25. right-o, ill have to try that when i get home from work tonight. i just hope the rain lets up tonight so that i can try to work on it again tonight. i hate working in wet.
