  1. those were indeed pugs from a late 80's 505 turbo sedan i came across a few years ago. dupli color wheel paint is some good stuff, ive beat the hell out of those wheels on that car and there are few to no scratches in the paint. they now are living on my brat until i go about doing a 5 lug swap on it. if i get my rx back, they might once again live on that.
  2. thats a slick looking hatch, kinda what i wanted to do with my rx.
  3. we have to get together some time, i am trying to plan a trip down that way once i get my brat back on the road. mainly cause i love the beach, but also cause i havent seen my dad in years:\
  4. its all bolt on for the coupe. i have a friend here that has a stock wrx 2.0l engine with the sti 6 speed trans and it is faster than most cars ive been in. doing it like that will be about half the price as a full sti swap. just make sure to get the entire wiring harness from the donor car as well as the ecu and engine x-member. the only fabrication ,if i remember corectly, is the exhaust afterthe down pipe as the wrx exhaust doesnt exactly line up. i am actually running a home made 3" exhaust that came off of a wrx wagon a few years back. with borla headers and stock cats, the car looses a little bit on the low end but on the highway is much better than most other cat backs ive used. the best exhaust size from what ive read and heard is 2.25" pipes and a good quality "sporty" muffler.
  5. sorry to hear that you cant make it but congrats on the resteraunt. good luck with that, it will be worth it in the end.
  6. when you find your brat, make sure to check under the carpets in the cab corners, front and rear. also, take a close look at the rockers and where the frame merges into the body from the engine bay. we should get together some time once i get my brat back on the road, i am planning to come down some time this summer to see my dad and then head to the mountains to see the rest of my family. i am seeing a fun road trip:banana:
  7. welcome to the club. where in the outer banks are you?my dad lived in kill devil hills for a while. depending on what you have to haul, a brat or wagon should be fine for you. should get relatively good milage as long as you keep it tuned up properly and should damn fun to play with as well.
  8. i like my fix, gloss black high temp duplicolor paint. looks really nice with the 205/60/13 race tires i have on em. ill get pics as soon as i get batteries for my camera. but if you want to polish the aluminum, first, make sure they arent clear coated, then degrease well. for the polishing part, id reccomend the norton brand sanding pads, basically foam backed sand paper. the 320 grit works great to shine up metal, then move on to mothers mag aluminum polish and finish with their billet polish. you might also want to use various grades of steel wool to polish if its oxidized or needs some heavy duty cleaning up.
  9. im down for as much old school rally photos as one can find.
  10. unfortunatly for me, my source for finding the wrc magazine tv show coverage from the bbc is gone the site that hosted the episodes is now either gone or very private, lol/ i have been a bit out of the loop since portugal last year. i dont even know who won last year
  11. welcome to the club and congrats on the brat. be sure to take lots of pics and what not, and done be afraid to ask questions or put out ideas.
  12. i would donate, but i dont think they want contaminated squishybits.
  13. good luck either way you go, i personally hope you get it back on the road.i hate to see a good car put down in the prime of its life, but if it has to go that way, there is no reason that the parts shouldnt live on somehow,.
  14. if you decide to part it out, let me know, i might have a buyer for the ej engine and trans.
  15. i know its not in va, but toward the end of the summer, i usually have a cookout here in frederick.
  16. looks like you had some fun, when you coming out my way? or am i going to have to come down and drag you up myself?
  17. man, id love to be able to pull off work like that. pity you are on the other side of the country, id love to just watch you work, lol. that or beg you for help with my projects,
  18. looking good sofar, cant wait to see it finished.
  19. looking good sofar, good luck.
  20. wow, lucky break on it just being the rotor, now the real question would be, what happend to the screw thats meant to hold it in place?
  21. as soon as i get the brat on the road, i am planning to take a trip down that way to see my family, so ill just have to drag him back with me:grin:
  22. omg! you are still alive!! we still gotta meet up sometime.
  23. i thought that on the ea82 cars all you have to swap are the hubs, not the axles.
