  1. where are you finding the preveiw episodes?
  2. exactly. that what ive been saying all along. as far as making power with the ea82, i tihnk wjm had a fairly powerful engine in his rx for while. granted, i think it did go pop, but it was run hard and used in racing i think.. if i remember, his engine was over200 hp.
  3. of all the times to be broke.eh, if i get the job im after, $10 wont be a prolem, lol.
  4. i still like the older skylines. i think the r32 is one of my favorites
  5. that was the bit i was reffering to, but ive been thinking about it, and if its only for the a/c, then it shoukldnt have been what was causing my issues, then again, i think it comes down to tuning, or the lack there of.
  6. the xt6 tb has absolutely nothing to compinsate for the idle, not even an adjustment screw. if you have the standard ea82t throttle, when you look at the engine from the front, on the back right side of the tb, there is a six sided "thing" that is about 1.5"-2" tall and usually has a wire coming out of the top of it to a single wire plug. i have seen acouple that have a second wire that i beleive is grounded. if you unscrew the "thing" from the tb, there is a slug of metal with a rubber tip on the end all backed by a small spring. from the looks of it, it sits in a conical hole at the bottom of its hole and there looks to be a tiny hole above the hole at the bottom. i wish i could describe it better, but putting thought to paper, so to speak, has always been hard for me. either way, its like a small pintle valve that routes a small amount of air around the throttle plate. i think its called the idfc motor, or something at least close to that. some of the other ea82t guys might know a bit more about it, but i am still learning as i go.
  7. i have a spyder manifold with the xt6 throttle body on it. it ran like a beast at high rpm, but it would often stall out at idle or run very bad at lower rpm's. the main difference being that it doesnt have the little valve thingy on the side of the throttle like the 4cylinder tb's. i think its the little motor thingy that controls the idle speed for peower steering and a/c, or something like that. i was in the works of making an adaptor to run the little thing on there. but i never finished it. basically, sinc the xt6 tb doesnt have a place for the valve/motor/thingy, i got some brass brake line adaptors and vaccuum connectors from the parts store and started on making something that might actually work if i ever finish it and get another ea82t running again. but if anyone around the central maryland area has an ea82t with the spyder manifold and wants to help out and use the xt6 tb for a bit, let me know, i would like to finish the project. granted, i might try to use it in the brat when the time comes.
  8. that works, lol there is a chance that the brat might be drivable by time the show comes around, i know it wont be done up the way i want it yet, most likely still bone stock and rough around the edges, but hey, its come a long way since i got it last summer. on that, i need to sign up, or find the money to sign up, lol. either way, i am hoping to be there with the brat, but if it comes down to it, my impreza is more than up to coming out, not show car quality by a long shot, but its still not bad looking.
  9. i second that ill try to remember to get filters, lol.
  10. do i need to bring coffee filters?
  11. i just got back from killing an hour in the hills. had to take the gf to work at 1, it was alittle before 12 and ther is nothing else to do in my town, lol. about half of the drive, we call em "mountain runs", is on gravel, the rest is tight and twisty tarmac and ends with about 10 miles on the expressway goming back into the city.
  12. unemployment does give me all the free time ill ever need to get stuff done, but there is that slight down side of not having any money:( now if i can pull a few strings, there is a chance ill have the brat on the road in time for the show, it wont be pretty, thats for sure, but it will hopefully be a lot closer to what i have planned for it.ive all but finished the passenger side rocker and floor pan repair, i just have two small patches left and then i need to finish the rockers on the driverside, which should be doable today, granted, i had to come in for food and to get out of the direct sunlight. maybe ill be able to get the rest of the rockers done today before i have to pack up to go get my impreza from the shop.
  13. i have an inverter, but ive never actually used it. ill bring it along anyways though. if i remember, lol. one of these days, i need to register one of my cars for the show, but as usual, i dont know what im driving out there and im broke, lol. but maybe ill get lucky and have a good interview tomarrow and fix that unemployment issue im having.
  14. i got maxwell house coffee and a box of grits for you,
  15. omg!!! i want that soo much, lol. anyone know what that kit runs as far as price and availability?
  16. sweet, that is exactly what i was after. the book from the fsm set that covers that stuff is the one that i dont have.
  17. i just remembered that i actully do have an inverter, someone now needs to supply a good battery to run it from though.
  18. that is basically what i am trying to figure out. i guess its what volt/resistance range that the fuel gauge reads.
  19. i know its usually the first thing, but have you checked the fuses and bulbs?
