  1. no it's not. There aren't any NA Closed deck EJ-series engine. Factory anyway.
  2. there are no 89-90 legacy turbos, or even 89 legacy's for that matter I'll ask again though has anyone had any actual problems with oil and coolant mixing? I seriously want to know this, not trying to be a wongleflute.
  3. No, it's an EJ22T Read here: http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic.php?p=83599&highlight=ej22t#83599 Here's a post explaining the difference between the EJ22G and the EJ22T: http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic.php?p=85027#85027 Or find a 91-94 legacy turbo and look at the engine code on the placard on the strut tower.
  4. really, call it http://www.eaperformance.com or something
  5. new generation refers to anthing of the legacy series (legacy, impreza, outback, forester, baja) I think they throw the svx in there too.
  6. sweet, I'd like one of these bad boys: H6300AS010 Tweeter Kit Legacy '95-'99 $15.00 Want me to pm you with my info?
  7. nope, the ej25 just blows headgaskets like the old ea71's I've read It's not like subaru's haven't always had a problem with heads or hg's. I do wonder how long it will be until an ej255 or ej257 block blows the gaskets. also get on aim already!
  8. but the EJ22T does not. has someone had a problem with oil and coolant mixing?
  9. redline each gear, and never go below 3k naa, I've actually read about a group that built race engines and drove them like hell right out of the box, at 1k miles they ended up with more power than the ones that had the gentle break in. Personally I wouldn't try it, I'd do as the owner's manual says. I mean they wouldn't give you that information for no reason would they?
  10. Corky-why would you need spefic heads for a specific engine, they all match up, the only difference is the coolant passages, and so far noone has had anything detrimental happen from that. Jon-I believe all of the Phase I engines had cast pistons and forged crank/rods (maybe not the sti engines) so I don't think it's that big of a deal
  11. looking a that site, why would you do this: http://www.users.bigpond.com/subaxtreme/page10/hex4.jpg ? Foresteres and outbacks for that matter are designed with the tire in the well for a reason, they wanted the most visibility possible. also the dude 85,000 miles is a lot for a set of tires, how poorly do they handle?
  12. I think the way you're setting up the exhaust wouldnt work too well. The stock setup has a turbo on each bank. it'd be less tubing if you did it this way. Also Something tells me the two turbos combined wouldnt be good for 350. I just think it wouldnt be as cut and dry. But hey, I could be wrong.
  13. The manifolds may not fit though depending on how different the heads are. I dunno when they started going to single port but if his engine is singleport the exhaust wont fit like josh stated, and if the spacing, or mounting is different on the intake ports that wont fit either. Really if you're worried about your current engine giving up you're going to be worring for a long time. It's quite a reliable engine if you take care of it.
  14. Hmm, I'm pretty lazy and don't feel like calling (but I will if I must) is there anyway to order online?
  15. Dunno bout the clank, I'm not good with sounds the brake light thing most likely means the fluid is low, and tripping the sensor come look at http://bbs.legacycentral.org almost anything you ever wanted to know.
  16. why do i get the feeling AWD/FT4WD failures are going to be on the rise. great info though, gotta make sure mike sees this. So lemme be sure I got this info right though. You can use everything from a 200sx or altima(bluebird), calipers, pads, rotors, mounting brackets, backing plates, brake lines, etc?
  17. no no, thats the power light you're all thinking of. This is the AT OIL TEMP light. This was flashing while he was driving not at startup.
  18. I wonder though, is there anyway to find this information out without looking at the transmission codes, they might be gone.
