  1. sorry, im interested in this again. Is the reason you need xt6 calipers because of the parking brake being on the front brakes in the stock setup?
  2. That's not it at all. platinum is a less conductive metal than pretty much anything else. They're only good for longevity. Copper is much more conductive than platinum or iridium.
  3. doesnt sound like legacy, with the buttons on the wheel.
  4. that's awesome! you know what's even more awesome, some of the early jdm legacys came with a dual range tranny, assuming they used the same 4.111 final, throwing it into low would haul i'd bet. Gotta get me some of that!
  5. explain please.
  6. All legacys, outbacks, foresters, and imprezas (except the 05 sti) use the same bolt pattern which is 5x100. The offset of the wheels is correct for the width of the corresponding wheel.
  7. nope, the early outbacks, I think 96 only maybe other years, with 5mt's had 2.2's
  8. I think 1st gear is too short! I currently have a 98 rs tranny in my baby, I can't tell if it accellerates quicker than the 4eat or not. I guess by design it has to, how much more? Not much. Any 4.111 tranny will definately keep you in better standing on the accelleration level. When compared to a legacy turbo my car is about 1.5-2 car lengths behind at like 65-70 when auto, it's almost dead even up to 50 or so. Haven't tested straight line yet with the 5mt. and this is with them having almost 50 lb/ft of torque on me. The turbo legs also have 3.900 gearing. If you were to swap a 4.111 gearset in now, you'd notice a world of difference.
  9. so no response to the gearing issue either?
  10. they're supposed oto be 160hp/181tq WJM I just realized you're only 5 days older than me. Hurray for Aries!
  11. okay, but isnt' there a point where tires are too wide? And wont 245/45-16's be larger in circumference than your stock tires? Meaning you'll be accellerating slower. Personally, if I wanted wider tires I'd go with something like 225/40-16's or something. What suspension are you using? Sorry if I'm annoying or something, this is interesting to me.
  12. Just out of curiousity, why so wide, and why 6 lugs?
  13. Here are links to both http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic.php?t=16520&highlight=dyno http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic.php?t=16871&highlight=dyno+graph The first guy only has a bigger exhaust, which doesnt really add any power. The 9.3 psi thing could easily be related to altitude depending on where he's at, since stock is 8.9 I'm sure .4 psi doesnt make THAT much difference . The other guy says he was completely stock. They were both taken with a mustang dynometer I believe. I don't think they read higher than normal, as all the near stock wrx's throw down like 150-160 on the mustang here. I can't say I believe that ratio thing. Sure it's good for round about numbers, but I wouldn't make a descision based on it. But anyway, GEARS!
  14. I ask because I thought this: was a question. Had you used the correct punctuation in the first place I wouldn't have said anything, and you point would've been made. Also that isn't a paragraph. You need to take a look at a few sites: http://www.paragraphpunch.com/ http://www2.actden.com/writ_den/tips/paragrap/ http://owl.english.purdue.edu/handouts/general/gl_pgrph2.html http://www.paragraphorganizer.com/ http://www.english-zone.com/writing/paragraphs.html or just look at this: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&q=paragraph&btnG=Google+Search Or maybe you should go back to school and take a lot of grammar and writing classes.
  15. well here's two stock legacy's that make 130: http://mtk.darkwire.com/dyno.jpg http://www.thawa.net/gallery/albums/Drews-views/legacydyno.jpg the first guy also dyno'd his car when he had the ej22e in and got a lil more than 100 so I really doubt the 112 figure (whereever you got that) so yeah, gears? Whatcha doing about it?
  16. hmm, I thought wrx's put like 150-160 down at the wheels. Hell a stock legacy turbo throws out around 130. Cool tht you have a good ecu though, and I'm sure once it's tuned you'll be making more power than that, I mean you start getting a lower AF ratio at about 100KPH. Anyway, good luck
  17. hmm, wouldnt you be closer to 160-180? I dont think you'd lose 80 hp in the drivetrain. I assume the vf12 you have is from a liberty then. That's cool What are you planning on doing about fuel?
  18. Look at the IAC valve, and then look a lil infront and down. There's two there and I always forget which one is which.
  19. what turbo are you using?
  20. Whats wrong with the stock location of the oil filter?
  21. wjm, what are you planning to do about gear ratios? Even if you do get the same power to weight ratio. An STi would easily out accellerate you with it's higher gear ratios. Correct me if I'm wrong but isnt the final 3.700? Not to mention just how short the actual gears are on an STi. If you havent already planned on it, I think you should try to go for much higher gear ratios. That in and of itself can make up for horsepower in accelleration. There's a few reasons I was doing as well as I was with that wrx, and gear ratios were one of them.
  22. Please dont put those pos wheels on your car. If you absolutely have to have something gaudy sell your current wheels to someone, like me
  23. anyone that knows the answer.
  24. can't your techs diagnose this kind of stuff? Also is that really one sentance?
