  1. theres no senor in the rad, the sensor you're looking for is at the top of the water manifold under the intake manifold. Theres actually two of em, i forget which is which.
  2. from what i've heard the addon is only like 10-15 bucksa, and comes with new lines, so why not just buy that and yourself the trouble?
  3. what did you have to do to get the wrx muffler to fit? was it bolt on? did you need to get it welded? Was it long enough to meet the midpipe? Just how short are the tips when looking at the car compared to stock? I did some measurements and t looked like the wrx muffler is about an inch shorter or so. Do all the hangers line up, or id you have to change them?
  4. the type of car would help but just so you know, any of the forester, impreza, legacy, or outback transmissions will bolt into one another and work fine. the thing you have to worry about though, is the final drive ratio matching up with the rear differential.
  5. Just looking at the wheel i can tell you almost without a doubt that offset is way too low for you. What purpose are these wheels going to be used for? I'm almost positive you can find a subaru oem wheel that would suit the purpose better and have the correct offset and bolt pattern
  6. what wheels are these, and why are they so special? Also almost without a doubt wont have the correct offset. Why not look for wheels that fit your car? You'll have more problems with going custom than just staying stock. Also the measurements in metric might help us non-standard people
  7. I wasnt aware morette made a kit for the 00-04 legacy's/outback's also as I understand it, the morette kits are the 90mm hella modules. Assuming they use the ECE code lights that's more than 100 bucks each light or 400 for the whole set. Not to mention it's already moulded to the design of the grill/bumper/hood/cornerlights. 450 sounds like a steal to me
  8. assuming we're talking about the pass side of the car and sort of where the cat is, yes it's just the AC system If you mean the driverside or farther forward/backward, it is most likely something else
  9. I take back what I said about the filter, some years even the external ones aren't meant to be replaced.
  10. Of course there is a center differential, how else are both your front wheels and your rear wheels getting power. Just because it doesnt have a gearset doesn't mean it isn't a differential. That'd be like saying an automatic isn't a transmission because it doesn't have gears.
  11. If you're talking about a knock sensor(all newgen subarus have at least one) that isn't a good way to use a lower octane than required.
  12. you don't need to worry about a clutch that disconnects the transmission from the engine no, but there is a clutch pack you need to worry about. Your best bet with the tranny is to first and foremost install an auxiliary ATF cooler. 4eats main enemy is heat. Secondly, change the EXTERNAL filter only, the internal filter is never meant to be replaced. And finally Keep up on the transmission services, this is as important if not more than installing an aux ATf cooler.
  13. seriously be glad you bought the subaru and not some other thing like a honda or toyota or something that couldnt handle these kinds of conditions. If you really want the car to last long enough, make sure you do all the manufacturer recommendations on time, and do every single one of them. You should start saving now for headgasket replacement, and honestly you should do it now before they blow on ya.
  14. The people whos cars NEED premium and run regular don't need to drive the car anymore. There's a reason it's performing worse, it's called pinging. That'd be like someone who needs 87 octane using 83 octane and saying it's a good idea. You should always use what the manufacturer recommends.
  15. It has also been said that at low rpms the boxer isn't as balanced as it is at higher rpms, that's just how it is. and probably part of why you're feeling that vibration.
