  1. old pad and rotor (yikes) The cap made of gold I think this was passenger side.. why is the wear on the pad like this? I noticed the slider pin was pretty much dry.. Drivers side air tools make it effortless Oh yeah I know it's not brake related but I found the two sounds.. first of all the passenger side wheel at first I thought it was a bad wheel bearing but it's the ball joint (did not do the passenger side yet) wow so much play in it that's where that popping sound is.. the other sound is from the driver's side CV joint since I'm new to this I had the front end raised should the axle connected to the transmission have up and down play?
  2. Thanks brus brother about 5 min after I got off the phone with you the bolt finally started to go in. passgener side only took me about 30 min did not do the rear ran out of light and have work in the morning. Plus I need a air ratchet tooo tight in that area. I have pics on phone drivers rotor and pad is not a pretty picture.
  3. Help! SOMETHING is not right lubed caliper pins and all that got top bolt back in but the lowrt bolt wont go in at all the rotor is so tight it wont turn something is not right everything went so smoth up until this point. Im on my mobile by the way.. I have tried for the past 30 min and no dice
  4. Ah I was going to ask about a t fitting I assume I'd need another one of those adapters for the BSPT threads right? I don't think I've seen a NPT to BSPT? I haven't check all of Mcmaster yet.
  5. A member here has a cap that he's going to send to me so I think I should be good.. I love my parts guy lol I had him look it up and he was like holy crap when he saw the price he was like that's unreal.. I was like I know :-| and perfect timing.. my brake spoon has been found!! I did run out of brake cleaner.. now if I can just find my grease for the slide pins. Going to be interesting when I take the pad off because it always felt like the driver front was dragging.. I would be driving and I'd smell hot pads and I would think well I did not see any hard braking up ahead. As soon as I find the grease time to start.
  6. your post is still confusing me above.. you make it seem like I have to take the stock pressure sensor out to put the sender in but then I have to reroute the pressure sensor someplace else?
  7. What other areas on the block can I put the pressure sender?
  8. I just don't want to make a hole in the stock cap and have it leak.. I mean I'm using o-rings and all but still I want to be safe.
  9. yeah I did not think it would be that off anyways *edit should I paint my calipers? since it will be painted black I was thinking red but I don't want it to look too overly flashy or ricey.
  10. yeah maybe I just wonder if it would leak.. Man I tried two dealers and they both said the same thing they would have to order it from NJ and it would not be here until next week.. tried two junk yards and nothing.. tried advance auto and auto zone and nothing... SO as bad as I hate to do it I can't bleed the brakes at the time but I will do the pads and rotors.
  11. I have a 95 Legacy and yesterday I was searching here to find where most people put the gauge at.. I never found a clear answer for that part but I was looking at getting this gauge here http://prosportgauges.com/52mm-electrical-oil-pressure-gauge.aspx It also shows the picture of the sender they send with it as well.. from my understanding the oil gallery plug is under the alternator? Will that sender fit? I was reading something about how a NPT would not seal all the way?
  12. Yeah the prices here are nuts... at least the property tax on the car is about the only thing cheap!
  13. LOL I hate it here really but I hated Bridgeport more too city like people here don't care if the light is red just run it anyways after it's been red for 3 seconds..... Know any yards that Have Subaru's? I can't think of any In Fairfield county....
  14. If i knew where they had yards here.. sucks when land is like gold in Fairfield county...
  15. Yeah I used to go to it all the time when I lived in Brideport.. it's a bit out of the way now but Anthony is great let me have one of the impreza model car in the display case for half off I'm going to try Georgetown in Norwalk since that's where I work.. Anything but Subaru Stamford!
  16. LOL want to hear a funny story.. I was coming back from N.C. and I stopped at a gas station and one of the workers walked up to my car with a spray can.. so I'm thinking oh god what is this?? and the guy was trying to sell me wheel a wheel cleaner in a can.. So he points to my wheels (they have covers on them) and he was like man they look pretty bad this will fix them right up lol I was like no thanks.. that's plastic man... And I was off. I will grab some shots of that rotor that I know darn well has to be down way more then the min thickness... the pad must have nothing left.. they must of picked the cheapest pads without the wear indicators.
  17. Nice I just noticed the weather forcast is not going to be raining today so time to do the brakes! I have no clue what the dealer is going to charge for a brake reservoir cap since I'm going to be drilling in the old one to make my cap for the pressure bleeder.
  18. I brought my car at 195,065 miles and I just rolled over 227,000 this morning I plan on keeping it for awhile.
  19. So from that link it will read 2.8% slower so if I was going 60 mph I'm really going 61.7 mph. it's not like the speedo is 100% right the faster you go anyways. remember I'm moving up from the stockers to 205/55/16 Ohh yeah extra money in my paycheck for tomorrow going to place the order for the wheels Can't blow everything at once since vacation time
  20. Hey going from 14" wheel to 16 wont my speedo show slower right? plus my gearing would take a hit right? (5 speed) 95 legacy
  21. I had something like that happen to my forester XS I guess the oil seal popped and front diff fluid all leaked out and the gear noise got louder and louder.. I was hoping to make it to the auto store but the front diff broke under the lightest throttle input ever.. something like 5% throttle leaving a stop light and every rotation of the ring gear it would hit the broken tooth and it was very nasty.. $3,000 worth of damage.
  22. When I put the 17 wheels on I might see where it's at highest I ever been was 110 and I did not feel the car slow down unlike my 98 forester.. at about 118 mph you felt the speed limiter kick in.
  23. I did everything 100% what my FSM said.. for the front seal oiled the ring with fresh oil and I drove it in straight with a very large axle socket. Then again I was not in a rush when I did it..
