Best way to remove wheel ring? ea81
I remove mine off and on, and it doesnt seem to hurt them, so you should be fine, just set them on the wheel and then use a block of wood (no hammers unless you have a rubber mallet) and tap them back into place...

died now wont start after 300 mile trip
Check all your spark plugs, pull each of them off and put them back on until they click. Then try it, if its not working, then check the distributor and make sure its timed correctly.

Greetings from Montana!
I think people that DONT talk to animals are the insane ones! I talk to just about every animal I encounter. Especially the ones I consider part of my family.

Greetings from Montana!
Welcome Since we havent completely been introduced, I have just been helping you get going on here Im 92_Rugby_Subie - AKA Marshall. I own Ned, a 1986 Subaru GL Sedan. I know hes a boy because he is blue, and I have never seen a girl named Ned. Hes got relatively low miles, about 173k. I think Jobie is quite awesome I love the pic of him in goggles! Hope you find what youre looking for. Feel free to leave me a visitor message (until you can Private Message) when youre looking for assistance. As for how the forum works... There is very rarely a question posted here that hasnt been asked before... So I would recommend the search function to save forum space with brand new postings. However, if a posting is old, making a reference to it in a new post and asking questions is better than resurrecting the old thread. Hope this helps!

Clunking sound on acceleration. 86 brat.
Did you check wheel bearings? Im about to do tie-rods on my 86 GL Sedan, but the passenger side wheel bearing tightened things up quite a bit and although it didnt make a TON of noise, when we pulled it out, GD said it was toast. Not a clean rounded bit on the bearings.

can ea 81 oil pan be resealed in car?
I can honestly say I JUST did this 2 days ago on my EA82 sedan. For some reason, the holes in the cross member didnt match up and thus were a PITA to remove the back 6. My advice (advice I was given from GD) Jack up the front end. put it in some jackstands. Take both engine mount bolts off. Jack the transmission up (with the engine) as high as you can get it to go. Start removing bolts. I think theres like 15 or something? When you get the cork gasket from the dealer (if you do an OEM gasket, I recommend it) get some ultra gray RTV and make sure you coat the gasket in RTV... let it stand over night, or at least a few hours til its no longer tacky. (I suppose you could put a fan or heater on it and get it to dry quicker) Then put it on, this way the gasket doesnt get all hard.. By the way... getting the old gasket off IS a pain in the neck... I had to do a reseal because the jack slipped and crushed the oil pan, had to pound it out and I didnt use a gasket, just used RTV and 2 days later, no leaks, so I think my job went well, but the dealer gasket is sooo much better. When you put it back in, get ALL the bolts started about half way before beginning to tighten them... the last few wont line up 100% so you have to slide the oil pan a tiny bit to get a bolt in, but it will all work out.

Are they compatible? Would be for a 4WD Justy... rear axles. If not, what's required to swap them if that's possible?
