it is possable and it has been done before. now my $0.02. if your going to go throught all that trouble, find a good EJ and put that in there. i think it would be an easyer swap -=Suberdave=-

the last few days, with all the rain, my car has devolped a small leak on the drivers side floor board. it seems to be coming from the drivers vent control. you know the one that you can select from A/C to vent. has any one seen this before? and how did you fix it? -=Suberdave=-

i beleave the frame rails are to close together. so slight modifacation will have to be done there. i have not done a swap on an ea81 but i have done one on an ea82 and it was an easy swap. -=Suberdave=-

many people on the board have that same scoop. i have one just like it. works awesome. most of us bought them on ebay for around $20.00 -=Suberdave=-

here is the wheel i just put on my car. its a Nardi Torino wheel and shift knob from the 96 STI to match the power train. -=Suberdave=-

i dont. i fegure it is water injection, up the comp ratio. havent had any problems in the last 3 years. -=Suberdave=-

so you want to convert a legacy? or impreza? everything after 96 was AWD. if your talking about an EA82 then the newest you will find is like 92ish. if your talking EA82 then i have everything you will need. PM me if interested.

drove about 50 miles in town today running around. and about 15 on the freeway. went through emissions. passed with flying colors. like 18HC at idle and 24HC at cruse. but overall it went awesome. had to put the stock air box on, the CAI i made was causing it to run a little lean. -=Suberdave=-

!!!!DONE!!!! code 33 was VSS. found out before i got the front clip the person in Japan had some sort of something hooked to the VSS. using one of those little clip things. well, i pulled the ECU and the wire was broke right at the little pink clip. used a good butt connector with heatshrenk on both ends. so now we know the VSS from a 1987 or newer GL will work with a EJ20 ECU... took it for a drive, wow. has way to much turbo lag. but once spooled up it goes very good. tomorrow new fuel filter and injector cleening, than emissions... -=Suberdave=-

is it possable to swap a steering wheel from an impreza into a GL wagon. i think the GL steering wheel looks silly. could i use the wheel from my 96 Impreza front clip? do i need an adapter or will it bolt on? i guess i will try it if i dont hear word one way or the other. -=Suberdave=-

took this thing out on the freeway yesterday. got a code 33 VSS sensor not working. so looks like its back to the drawing board for the VSS. then i can drive it again. but it runs awesome. (before the light) -=Suberdave=-

on my way out the door now to get a STI cat back Exhaust for it. then i can say "done" not "almost done" -=Suberdave=-

took the wife for a ride today. she started screeming and looking for an "OS" handle. and i was only shifting into 2nd gear. still no exhaust. so im sure the neighbors arnt to happy. but i have an appointment for tomorrow morning to get some. gonna be lots of fun. i cant wate till tomorrow when i can take it out on the freeway.

i didnt have any trouble i couldnt get solved. for the cross member i used the front and rear sections from a 88 XT6 and the center peace from the WRX. it bolted right up. then the front section of the driveshaft had to be shortened. 55mm. then to use the rear diff with LSD and matching ratio. i had to order custom CV races to mate the WRX inner cups to the GL axels. (i have an extra set if you need some or you can call RCV Peformance part# 184-068A) and then theres the clutch issue. thats a whole nother chapter. you have to use the clutch/brake box from a USDM WRX. not to much moding to be done. then drill a few holes in the fire wall for the clutch master. and bolt it all up. -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com/subaru/glwrxt

got my converson races form RCV Peformance. worked awesome. i was able to drive it around the back yard. but could not take it on the street yet. i still need tires for the rear. should have them tomorrow. so they will be the same size. but it goes like crazy in the wet yard.
