  1. there are 2 different sizes of shafts that came on the GL's. i beleave they are 7/8" and 1" the smaller of the two will fit right into the inner cup of Legacy shafts. you just have to check spline count. but i do have an extra set of the races that i used when i mated my JDM WRX LSD R160 to a set of XT6 shafts. pull your axles apart and count the splines and i can tell you if they will work or not... -=Suberdave=-
  2. I put JDM STI seats in my GL\L series\Leone... I just pulled both seats apart, and used the frame and rails from the stock seat, now i have STI seats with higth adjustment...
  3. you could go and get a speed sensor from the tranny of a newer EJ car, and wire it up to give the signal to the ECU. of course your spedo will not work at all. but you wont get limp mode... im not sure if you speedo is working now or not, this may not matter...
  4. I have thought about this many times... i even have a set of projectors in the garage. glad to see that it works.
  5. you can always go to the junkyard, find a car with an auto trany. and take the whole front section of the brake lines. they all unbolt at unions, and it is super easy to swap. no more hill holder...
  6. here are some pictures of how i put Rear Brembos on my GL. it would be the same for Legacy or Impreza rear disk onto any GL. but like Tex said. its finding the rear hub that is the hard part. they are not easy to find. http://wordpress.suberdave.com/?page_id=59
  7. I have an EJ18 sitting in my garage, i will install it into your car wire it up and everything. you drop it off, you drive it away. PM me if interested...
  8. first off. i have been running Xt6 axles in my 1996 WRX front knuckles for about 40K now with no problems at all. they fit right in and i have not had any issues. as for the outter joint. to remove it you have to take the inner joint apart. then find a metal tube that the axle shaft fits into. (it must be longer than the shaft by a little bit) then smak it onto the ground a few times. it will pop off the shaft and it will be awesome...
  9. the 6speed will not fit in the brat trans tunnel. unless you lift it a bit...
  10. if you are putting an R180 into a Brat. check this out. sould be the same as putting my R180 into my R160 Wagon http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2048240 and http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2039248

  13. I have done a few swaps now for other people. i am located between Seattle and Tacoma. If you get all the parts. and bring your car and parts to me. i will install everything, cut down the harness and have it set to drive back to your house for around $1000-1200. depending on what all you want done. i am an ASE master certified auto tech. and have done more than a few EJ swaps. both EJ22s and EJ20Gs into older cars. as well as EJ207's into 90's Imprezas. PM me if interested. ill give you my #, and we can talk...
  14. I could be wrong. but i thought the interference 2.2l had single port exhaust and the non-interference 2.2's had dual port exhaust...
  15. in an EA82, just get a WRX pedal box. pull the 4 nuts off of the brake booster. pull your old pedal box out. drill 3 holes in your firewall. 2 for the bolt holes and one for the clutch master to go through. bolt it up and bleed it... i have done it a couple of times. not bad at all. here are some pictures of my old "RX" that i put an EJ20G into. http://wordpress.suberdave.com/?page_id=110
