  1. Mine did the same thing, I had NO thermostat. Put one in it, and worked like a charm
  2. I think I am gonna weld/grind/paint over the old holes in my wheels so this can be avoided, I am also gonna chamfer the new holes to seat the lugs into. I would prefer no tire monkey touches my car anyways unless absolutely necessary. This will also benefit me if I were to get pulled over and the cop were to think I have 4 lugs missing from each wheel
  3. I want them higher, but I digress
  4. start with the coolant temp sensor, if they short, they tell the computer something like -40 and if they open, they tell it like 250* or vice versa. If it is has a short or open in the sensor, it can lean the computer out, but while its cold, It should be enrichening the engine until its warmed up. I have experienced this with other cars in the past. I would get a Multimeter and check the OHM's to what the book says it should be when cold/hot.
  5. check and make sure your motor mounts are good and the bolts are still tight in the cross member, and check both bolts on the torque brace?(The bar under the spare from the engine to the firewall) Also check that the bushings aren't broken in it too, Mine has busted bushings and causes a pop when I take off quick (I am fixing to replace it with a NICE adjustable moped strut) I will post pics when I get it done.
  6. I used to drive a 74 VW Bug, UNBAFFLED Stinger (megaphone) Exhaust, Dual carbs ect. I would come down an off ramp, hit 2nd and you would think you were in a shootout! BBBRRRRRUUUHHHMMMMMMM.....POW....POW....POW..POW POW POW!!! BWWWAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!:lol::lol::lol::lol: The two times cops pulled me over, I would just say "My baffle fell out the other day". Never was written a ticket
  7. I got my tat last year, Its not on my car though Here is "The UAV"
  8. duh me, I am post lagging. I was mixing post titles. Check your carb, you are running hella rich then. especially plugging new cats.
  9. Cool because I know a junkyard that has some mazda 6's for $50 w/tires
  10. Unburnt fuel in the exhaust. Turbo cars run a little rich. Put a cat back on it.
  11. what about isuzu 6's and mazda 6's?
  12. measure an ea81. You saw a ea82. plus, you won't like the power of the justy engine. NO torque. I used to have a Justy RS w/push button 4wd. SLOW. EA81 is in the 84 and before wagons/sedans
  13. Also, if you can't get the axles back into the hubs all the way, take off the 4 hub bolts, then thread the castle nut onto the axle a few turns, and use 2 pry bars/screwdrivers to pry it through the wheel bearing.
  14. Ford Motor Company produces a BOSS silver sealant. Its not RTV, I think it is anaerobic. It is available from their parts department. That stuff is made from ground up ninja swords or something. I guess ford has to get at least ONE thing right.
  15. Holy sexy mother of wagons! That is the shizznit man! I am soooo envious. It looks like Subaru should have done from the factory and called it something catchy like touring edition, or ROYALE LOL!
  16. What are you using on the fronts? and how much does this lift the car over stock height? Also, do they HAVE to be w/o a/c springs?
  17. nah, they would just try pressure you into painting flames on it, get HUGE chrome air tanks/compressor, and to put "switches" on it
  18. Also, check that your tension rods/mounts are tight and unbroken. I welded a sub-frame brace/tension rod mount, back together on a Mitsubishi Starion that was having the same problem. The bracket was broken in half.
  19. push it off, if it starts, bad ign switch. My friend's Mazda B2200 did that, I just soldered a diode from the start terminal to the ignition (on) terminal on the back of the ignition switch! $0.79 fix w00t!
  20. To reassure yourself, take your multi-meter, set it to AC current autorange. Put the negative lead on the negative battery terminal. put the positive lead on the alternator b+ terminal (the fat one to the battery) and if you get more than .5v AC voltage you have a bad (backfeeding) diode, which will wonk out the VR and cause high voltage. replace it
  21. Mine runs anywhere between 35psi at idle and 70psi cruising. HIGH Rpm ranges it could almost tickle the 85psi mark. It ran 7ish to 45 with Valvoline 10w-30 in it. I run 20w-50 Castrol GTX in it now FTW!!!! 175,783 miles lol.
  22. DUDE!!! I was just thinking the same thing. I wish I could have an RX. I've never seen one in person here in TX.
  23. My soon to be '80 BRAT. Ain't she a beauty!!! She needs some TLC (Time and Lots of Cash) Lol but for $400 I think its worth it. Just needs carpet and seats, a bath, tires and some love. EA81. Motorcraft 2bbl carb conversion, factory roll bar, Has spoke wheels for it.
