not sure about xt6 hood as I've never taken one off, but even the XT Turbo hoods with the integrated hood scoop and ducting are pretty light. I can lift one up and carry it around by myself. I'd start by removing other stuff if you have an issue with weight. lots of weight in the air suspension lines/pump/tank/struts if you haven't already removed that stuff. A/C weighs a bit plenty of sound deadening you can take out from under the carpet and the xt6 has more doo-hickies than you could imagine, so if you are down for removing weight you might as well switch to non cybrid power steering, remove the trip computer/equilizer/radio, remove the passenger and rear seats, ditch your spare tire, and all sorts of other crazy stuff

Figured Out What Is Wrong with Rocky
operose replied to Bucky92's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
do you have a breaker bar connie? I put my breaker bar on the crank pulley bolt, and then I put a pipe on the breaker bar. the pipe needs to be long enough to go to the lip inside the engine bay where the fender mounts down! some day I will take a pic so it makes sense, but I have a pipe I threaded the end of and put a flange on... it goes over my breaker bar and sits on the lip of the fender, so that when I get in the car and turn the key the engine turning breaks the bolt loose. can't take credit for the idea I stole it from one of the geniuses here with regards to this, the whole reason she needs to change it is that the outer part of the pulley separated from the inside. putting a strap wrench around it just holds the outside of the pulley, which still slips on the inside :/ -
so how'd it go, and where are the pics?

I'm thinkin it wouldn't be too hard to make one

nope, english mastiff / bulldog mix the lights are just cheapos but they work alright. I like to aim the middle two forward, one kinda up and one kinda down, and then the two on the sides out to the left and right a little

sorry, kind of a hijack, but on-topic with regards to torque not sure if it is true or not but I was reading on another board that smaller intake runners will ultimately lead to bad torque? can't find the post now, but the guy's logic was hard to follow. can anyone confirm?

forgot to say that I put a few thousand miles on that car after that before retiring it for issues unrelated, and was so confident in that car that if I'd had the money, I would've tried driving it to california and back. but I told my girlfriend everyday "you never know when this damn crank pulley is going to let loose, come flying through the hood, and strand us in the middle of Deliverance, Upstate New York"
