What about engine/tranny crossmembers for the ej? Does an ea82 engine crossmember fit into a gen 1 Brat? Anyone know?

Nice. I'll have to start saving up to get one but yeah it had crossed my mind to start riding. I know there's lots of sweet trails to bike around here, and all over the sierra's. Count me in. -
I could be up for something. Jeremy - Call me with what happens, I don't get to the internet too much anymore.

hey I know its short notice, but there's a black Gen 1 at the sparks PnP that I need to grab a bunch of parts off of tomorrow. I plan on being there at about 10:30 or so. Everyone should have my number in case anything comes up.

The shifter is set up through a go-cart 3 speed shifter.

The Brat should be ready in a week or 2, let me know. If you want to go sooner, I'd be willing to run down there. I get weekends off now too. -

There's not too many gen 1's. There is a Brat that I might need to grab the tailgate and sidestep from, and I still need those hatch fenders, so I might go back sometime soon. Other than that I DID nab an LSD thats going to ebay. But that was all. -
A buddy of mine recently built a buggy using a hona accord motor and 2wd Honda transmission. He flipped bioth the engine and tranny 90 degrees and used the stub shafts in the tranny to drive the driveline. using yota axles with 5.89 gears (I think) he ended up with a crawl ratio of around 60:1 without the need for a t-case. The thing is way light at 2200 pounds too. Here are some pics.

I have the Transmission and all the needed accessories for it (Conversion kit from Bratsrus1) the driveline and the clutch, and i'm getting it done at my buddy's place called Asian Specialized. I swapped the 5 speed in the first time with help from subieman and thesubarujunkie and it wasn't fun. So now i'm thinkin its easier to have it done at a shop. -

Welcome aboard, glad you could join us. Its nice to have a few new faces around. we should all get together soon and make a run somewhere. i gotta get my brat to the shop to have the 5 speed swapped in, should do that at the end of the month when I get my tax return, then I'll be back into a lifted Brat again! Here's a pic of my old rig: My new rig is going to look the same, its just white. -
Anyone ever try swapping the 2.2 in without the power steering? I figure I just need a different smaller belt for the alternator. Any ideas of what length it needs to be from experience? Otherwise I'd need an ea82 engine crossmember with power steering right? That way the ej22 motor mount bolts are lined up witrhout any drilling right? I'd also need a 4" steering extension for an ea82 power steering unit? What else? Thanks again. EDIT: Are the engine crossmember lift blocks the same for an ea82 as an ea81 as well?

I'll be taking lots of pics to throw up as Im doing the swap. Does the ea81 Pitch stopper work with the 2.2? Just tryin to figure out what I'm going to be needing from this legacy and what works. Thanks for the help.

I have a few more questions on the swap. Will a third eye still work with a fan on the front of the radiator? Or do I have to scrap it? Also what throttle cable do I use? The legacy cable, ea82, ea81?

For the subarus or yota's? LOL:lol: Naw thats cool, count me in. Thats a great time to have the show, I think it might be close to the time when people go back to school, but its late enough so that the weather should be great and it gives everyone time to get their stuff together. You can definitely count me in. -
