  1. Try Napa yet? Kragen? Autozone? Dealership? Or you could wait 2 years and got to PnP. Or you could pay me 2$ and come pull one off one of my wagon's. You should ask for a service manual for your B-Day and thats how to replace it. Have fun. Have fun fiing your soob, welcome to the club.:-\ :-p
  2. Bushwhacker Samurai flares, they have the gas door cutout and all. Will prolly be a close fit to our soobs. Or you could use that garden edging...
  3. No they don't, I tried one time. The Gen 2 Brats are like an inch taller than the gen 1's and so the headrests won't bolt up unless you cut and weld. Everything else DOES fit though. Hope this helps.
  4. So I've been kicking around ideas on the gearing of our soobs, and it seems that by having a better low range in the factory 5 speed T-case would be very helpful. I haven't dug into a transmission as of yet, but IF someone was to have a gearset made just specifically for the t-case (ie, having the stock 1.6 low range made to be 2.0 or more) My question is - would that help by itself, or would it be a waste of time? From the looks of the old 82 tranny I pulled from the Brat, it seems like the t-cae is kinda small, and wouldn't seem to be much of a problem getting a new et made, but again, I haven't torn into one to see what's involved. What parts if any would be stressed more if the t-case is lowered to a certain extent? As of right now The Brat is this: (with the 5speed) 3.545(1stgear low) x 1.59 (T-case low) x 3.9 (diff ratio) = 22.12 With a 2.0 low in the t-case the magic number jumps to 27.65 which i quite a jump. What do you think?
  5. I know the 4.10's and 444's will bolt in (depending on what year your soob is, BUT you don't wanna be driving it in 4wd with different diff ratios. Thats why we haven't gone with lower gears, as fitting the lower gears in our trannies is impossible (for now) without losing the 4wd and going to AWD.
  6. Now, when replacing the torx bolt back into the carrier, would it be possible to use something OTHER than the torx socket, so as to make it easier for the replacement in the future? So maybe using a different bolt instead of the torx one?
  7. They weigh a bit with the carrier, just the limited slip part not too bad. I shipped a couple just the internals, and it was only 8-9$. The only specific part needed as mentioned above is the e-10 torx socket. I have a deep one, I don't know if a short one works, and it wa kinda spendy from snapon tools.
  8. I saw a rockcrawler out at the moonrocks that was sporting dualies front and rear, making an 8 wheeler. Seemed to do all right, as GD said , I didn't see him air down much, but it looked cool.
  9. I think its a prototype, Zap has the first one. Just start saving your money and by the time you know it, they'll be available.
  10. It was. Zap was using taller springs and the such, but it has an actual KIT now. From PK/BYB at ozified.com. Looks good zap, its about time eh?
  11. I took them down to make more room for other stuff in my photo gallery. I'll try to see if I can get them back up soon.
  12. I don't know how many of you click on Ramengines.com on a regular basis, but since I'm a dreamer I do. Check out their latest: Thats 200HP supercharged ea81. Just freakin awesome. Man I wish I had one of those in lifted.
  13. Stock turns, vacuum lines are all plugged, regulator is a holley, works fine, fuel pumps through real well. Its a weber, yeah it has power to it, I've tried to wire it seperate even. Fuel spits out fine into a can all the way through up to the carb.
  14. So I have eveything hooked up (fuel cell, filter, lines, regulator) and the Brat still doesn't run. Gas is DEFINITELY getting TO the carb, just not past it. fuel just drips into the carb and the Brat will not start. Doesn't even try to turn over, just acts like no fuel. What could the problem be? I had the carb checked, everything is clean, air flows through just fine. I've adjusted the regulator all the way up and all the way down. I'm about ---><--- to just scrapping this whole Brat with the amount of money I have invested into it and to still not have it run.

http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=62289 The question asked in that thread also applies to your Brat as well.
  16. Which resort is that Dave? Thats crazy! Almost a foot at this time of year? I need to move.
  17. That's cool, a little more notice would have been cool, I've been wanting to get to Vegas again for a while. Maybe next year.
  18. Jets haven't been changed since it came out of box new. Not sure what they come set as. Haven't tried the seafoam, not sure if it'd help, the whole fuel system is COMPLETELY NEW: Cell, pump, 2 filters, lines, regulator.
  19. Are there any better aftermarket filters that work better than the one that comes with it? Pre-filter? It seems that I have to rebuild my weber already, its been on for about 90 days and on about 3 offroad trips. Gas is getting to the carb but is dripping into the carb, I think the jets are clogged real bad.
  20. Sounds like you had fun, I'm still mad I didn't get to play. I'm trying to be good and not wheelin any of the "daily drivers" and only the lifted Brat, but it doesn't look like the lifted wants to run. I figured the weber needs a rebuild. (It's been on since the end of July:mad: )
  21. I had some posted, but needed more room for other stuff in my gallery. I could see about getting them back up.
  22. And why do most of the usmb members have the site stickers on their rigs? And why do Jeep guys all have pirate stickers on their rigs? Cause thats what they support. I think it IS just you.
  23. I'm out. The Brat's not acting right and its making me real depressed. Looking at the amount of money I've put into this thing to STILL not have it run is stupid. I also remember having wheeled the Brat a grand total of 3 times this YEAR.
