  1. So The Brat seems all right now, just fiddled with a few things, and it seems to be all right. So is anyone up for doing a little wheeling Sunday or Monday afternoon? Are we all going to try to hook up at the Rib cookoff? I want to get this thing together.
  2. Those US Wheels shouldn't cost you too much, I run 2 different sets of US Wheels on the Brat. I bought mine new from summit for close to 21$ new each. Well, I guess plus shipping. But yeah convert to 6-lug, it DOES make the soobs look better. I wouldn't go bigger than a 28" tire either, it makes our soobs a little sluggish. A lifted sedan would be SWEET!
  3. The Rib cookoff started today. Guess where I was for lunch? It goes until Monday I believe. I have to work on Sunday, but maybe can get off early. The Brat isn't doing too good right now though, I think the vacuum hoses to the carb are messed up. It died all of the sudden the other day and then worked and then crapped out. I got it doing all right after messing with vaccuum hoses. we'll see though.
  4. Yeah, or even if you drive through Reno, we'd like to meet ya. Maybe a quick stop for lunch or gas or somethin.
  5. HECK YEAH! I wasn't about to let that stuff sit there. Like I said I'll get pics very soon.
  6. I like anything that isn't pavement. Give me dirt, dust, rocks, sun, shade, dry, wet, ANYTHING. I don't care what it is as long as I get to get away from stupid city drivers. That being said, I like mud, it's way fun. Too bad there's not much of that here in Nevada.
  7. While wandering through the yard today, I found an 81 Wagon That had a "Sport" tag on it on the drivers side fender below the subaru logo there. It also has an A-Style Brush Guard on it AND a third eye. The date of manufacture was 06/81. The interior was a brown color with white/brown plaid, none that I have ever seen before. Either it wasn't faded or it was some sort of special color. Exterior was a light green. There was a plastic tag on the rear hatch that read Butch Subaru and an outline of the state of Mississippi. It also had a shifter knob I have never seen either. It has a wooden design and the top is rounded and is white and has the subaru logo in it in blue with the word SUBARU underneath it. I'll get a picture of that. Does anyone have info on what this subaru was?
  8. Yeah as far as I know. Brian is thinking of coming up Sunday afternoon. (Right?) and maybe help Jeremy with some stuff. Then maybe Monday morning, we can hit up the rib cookoff and then go wheelin. Brian and I will want to camp somewhere (And anyone else). Anywhere there are trees and stuff. Then more wheelin, hopefully no breakage and then headed home tuesday afternoon.
  9. Because Mudrat owes me things as well, and so far its seems like I am out the most money so far if something happens or doesn't happen. I said earleir that I didn't want to get TOO involved, I just want to know who else out there is waiting for stuff from Mudrat.
  10. So I want to get a list going of who Mudrat owes stuff to. Northguy - Bumpers NoahDL88 - EJ to EA Adapter Plate Jibs - Front/Rear Bumper, Rollbar, Transmission w/Phantom Grip Skapickle - lift kit for a 78 brat anyone else? I don't want to get too involved in this thread, I want to leave it between Mudrat and Northguy, but I have also tried calling him about sending my bumpers and stuff un-powdercoated with no response. I talked to Mudrat at WCSS7 as well as afterwards, so I have said what I wanted and am at ease for the moment.
  11. Yeah me too, sounds like Labor day weekend (Monday, Tuesday) is the time. Where is the place gonna be? We are also trying to set up some time to hit up the rib cookoff as well.
  12. I'd still like to get in on this meet too. If it's semiclose at least I guess.
  13. It DID sound good. that's the first thing I heard when I pulled up to the show was someone's car revving up way loud. I thought it was a truck or something cause the hatch was hidden behind all these other cars, then we walked over and saw it. I was surprised. It doesn't sound like a ricer for sure.
  14. Let's do it. When should we go, I think I can call in some sunday coming up.
  15. Good deal! Now do you wanna come over and swap an ej22 into one of my rides?
  16. That's a great Video. You guys drive your soobs hard over there, its cool cause now I know I can push mine a little harder knowing it's gonna be all right. And geez are those things FAST! That makes me want to do an ej22 swap too. Great job, Great Vid. Keep it up!
  17. OH! Is there a post around somewhere saying you got it fixed? Sorry, for having 9 Brats, I don't actually spend a lot of time here, more in the offroad forum.

    Tube Doors

Yeah I can tell I'm gonna be cleaning a lot with these doors on. I put seat covers on to keep those as nice and clean as possible, I might put another seat cover over the ones on there as well. Where I live here in Nevada, It was legal to run without any doors at all. I called the DMV and asked they said I could run without doors or anything. It varies from state to state, cause when I went up to WCSS7 in Washington, they have rules saying that I HAD to have to have doors, so that's why I got these tube doors.
  19. That's no good. I just swapped an ea81 with an ea81 from auto to manual, and the exhaust bolted right up. You would think that yours would do the same. I don't know what advice I can give you, as I swapped engines BECAUSE of backfiring from the carb and other carb issues.
  20. dang that sounds like fun. and I just got the brat running again. Too bad the Rib Cookoff is that same weekend here in Reno. Happens only once a year and I try to save a half paycheck to splurge on as many rack of ribs as I can get. I'll get up there soon, maybe when Mudrat79 gets my stuff done, I'll have to test it out.
  21. Here's a Pic: And a closer pic of the Cragars: Sorry, it's not great quality, I took it with my camcorder and it's no digital camera. I would also like to thank everyone who took pics of My lifted Brat, I appreciate it. EDIT: Here is a link to some more WCSS7 Pics: http://usmb.net/gallery/wcss7
  22. I have a set for sale if you'd want them. I was gonna use them, but it turns out that my tires don't stick out too far, so I didn't end up using them. PM me if you are interested.
  23. yeah I'll check again. I'm in for using manual guages, and as you might know, that brat isn't exactly stock anymore, so all the more fun to do it a new way. we'll do it how ever we need to when you get back up here, I just wanted to get it going for now. Thanks for the help.
  24. I replaced the thermoswitch and grounded the radiator when we replaced it along with the engine. My temp guage doesn't work anymore as well, it did with the old radiator, but it doesn't seem to with this one. I wired it all back together right, and have looked at other cars I have, and it seems to be all right, but I don't know.
  25. So my lifted Brat is running again, but now the fan won't come on. After looking around, it seems that the fan is wired differently than in my other cars. It is connected to a solenoid on the passenger side up near the firewall connected to the strut mount. After playing with the solenoid that was on there I got it to start a few times. It would pop and the fan would turn on then pop again and turn off. So I grabbed a solenoid from the same place off my parts wagon, and swapped it in, but it doesn't seem to do anything anymore. What should I look into?
