  1. That's GREAT! Now to put everything back on and have some fun!
  2. I didn't know where to post this, but here goes. Has anyone tried to "strengthen" the glovebox latch a Brat? I ask this because I picked up 2 marine style cupholders and they attach with 4 very small screws to a small plastic plate (Size of a quarter) I was thinking of putting 2 of them on the glovebox door, but I don't think it'd be strong enough to hold 2 drinks in place. I don't know how I would strengthen the latch, but maybe a stronger one from a newer car might work. Any help would be appreciated.
  3. That looks like it was fun. If the RX had trouble keeping up, its probably best that I didn't come in the Brat, eh? That and I had to work. Looks like fun though.
  4. Anyone know the spline count on an 81 GL Brat hub? 80 Brat hub? 82 Brat hub? Thanks. I believe that 81's and 82's are different, but am not posotive. Thanks.
  5. That's SWEET!! I like that A LOT better than those pugs. now can I have them back? Just playin. Lookin good!
  6. Yeah my BYB kit is RAD! very easy to bolt on, we'd ever done one before and did it on a rusty brat, but it took us a day to do. Great stuff.
  7. Well...... My lifted soob right now is having major issues with rust and the such, so maybe I'll swap everything over when it goes downhill. Otherwise, I may swap over the engine into my lifted and then part it out, or maybe just make it sweet lookin. I don't believe it came with the tanneau cover, but I haven't really had the chance to look closely to what's inside. I am definitely getting rid of the spare, maybe some nicer rims might spice it up. It may become my daily driver for right now as well.
  8. It depends on what kind of ea81 you have. I believe PK/BYB can make ea81 lift kits for any ea81 car EXCEPT for the 1981 Brats, which use the angled shock mount so is difficult to lift. Mudrat makes a lift kit for gen 1 Brats though so you can contact him for that if its what you have.
  9. Yes, I bought ANOTHER Brat, but I may have an idea or two for this one and couldn't pass it up. Its an 84 Automatic. It's a GL so it has the T-Tops. Non turbo though. I bought it from a lady who moved to washington and needed to get rid of it. I was told that her ex-husband was a mechanic for Subaru and was one of just 97 people in the country with his qualifications to work on subaru's. I got it for 700$ and the reason why I bought it was because it had a brand new engine, there are NO cracks in the dash, and the seats are marvelous. The only down side is that is has a small patch of bondo on the passenger side behind the wheel well. Now for the pics: The Dash: The Seats: The Bondo: The engine: (I took the pics with my camcorder, so it doesn't do the engine justice. )
  10. That looks like 3 shift knobs I have that all came from 73-76 wagons. Mine look like wood grain though, and I believe are 4 speed knobs as well. (I'll have to verify this later)
  11. 2 please. I'll be traveling with some punk 12 year old. Unless he makes me mad and I launch him out of the brat somewhere before Vancouver.
  12. Yeah I guess I'm in. Maybe. just playin, yeah count me in.
  13. Monday's or tuesday's work for me. I don't know if I can get a weekend day off from work, I'll ask though. It'll be good to get together and chat about the show as well.
  14. Ya know, I brought my Ps2 and my gamecube last year and then couldn't find anyone who had brought theirs. So I ended up leaving it in the car wasting space. make sure you find everyone else who's gonna bring theirs. I MIGHT bring my Ps2 with Timesplitters Future perfect so let me know and make sure to hook up with me and we'll get some games goin.
  15. I don't think there's enough room for either of them. But it wouldbe cool though. You will have to deal with the fact that the Justy has inverted 3 cylinder as well, and will have to swap out transmissions as well, and I don't know if a regular 4 or 5 speed out of any other soob would work. I can't give any other info, sorry. Hope this steers you in the right direction, and if I am wrong anywhere here I apologize.
  16. So after installing new axles on my lifted rig, I noticed that my car needs new tie rod ends. and when I checked THAT I saw that my steering boot is ripped on the driver's side. so my question is, should I replace the whole gearbox from the junkyard, or just the tie rod ends or what? Is there a way to replace the boot to the ends of thew car while the gearbox is on the car, or do I need to pull the entire thing? Thanks.
  17. Yeah I'm having trouble getting into contact with John after I paid him some money as well.
  18. Seriously! one of these days, I want to pick one up.
  19. lookin sweet! And I'm glad to know that Mudrat is still alive!
  20. Because I want to wait for Brian to get off work so I'm ot driving by myself during the day. Just kidding, i'll probably be driving Lifted, and you know how those do on the highways with oversized tires. I want to get a good start and take it easy. I might have a trailer as well, I was gonna take a camper up to the show for one of the members, but that fell through. I will still have the bed PACKED with all my gear, stuff for sale, and other stuff, soooo. I don't know yet.
  21. The bearings in my 83 Brat are shot, and the subaru shop nearby wants sonewhere close to 350$ to replace them so I was wondering If I couldn't just replace the whole trailing arm with one from a low mileage car at the junkyard. My real question is if I could replace it with one from an rx or something with disc brakes. would this work? what would I need to do the swap, other than the trailing arm? Or should I just go for another ea81 and swap over the rear discs? Thanks.
  22. yeah I'm gonna head up with Brian wednesday night I think, so Vancouver seems good. We'll be on the CB and I'll get everyone my cell # soon as well, so we can keep in touch there as well.
