Reno Meet: Afterwards
Well, today was fun. We did pretty good and had a blast. I think I sustained the most damage with a good hit to the driver's side fender and drivers side valance, both of which got banged up pretty good. (did ya get a pic of it Brian?) Other than that we only had one other problem when Zeno's wagon got way hot and shorted out out on a fairly steep hill after his fans stopped working. Here's a few pics of those who made it: (sorry NVBigBlue) And here's the best part: TheSubaruJunkie's RX offroad Video!! http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=4731&sort=1&cat=641&page=1 I have some more of His RX that I'll get to Brian to Upload.

Washoe city, so probably I80. Turn left at the crest of the hill before you get to the candy place, and the 7-11 is up a ways on the right.

I think the biggest you could go to is a 25 or 26" tire without much trimming of the body. You might still have to trim a little, but not as much. something along a 205/50 or close would fit. Just search around here, there's been a few topics like this before.

Reno / Northern Nevada Meet
Sounds like fun. I'm not lookin for a LOT of snow either, I've had enough of it this winter to hold me through. When and where is a good place to meet?

suggestions for installing a roof rack on BRAT
Yeah I'd try to have it grip to the rain gutters. No drilling involved, and you wouldn't ruin your roof if you wanted to take the rack off.

dual range
All right cool, thanks for clearing that up! I appreciate it.

dual range
What kind of engine is it going to be mounted to? You can find D/R Trannies in most 80's subaru's including: GL Brats 81-87 4speed GL Wagons 80-89 4speed GL hatchbacks 80-89? 4speed All GL loyales up to mid 90's 5speed late 80's RX's and Xt's There are others that were made in Australia and Europe for legacies and the such, but good luck with those! Those are all I can think of right now, If I am wrong in any way please feel free to say something as well.

Carb -> SPFI Update for Subieman & Jibs...and everyone else too!
Hahaha!! Yeah I had noticed when we got out into the parking lot, that they hadn't looked in Big Blue's tool bag at all. He had set the ecu in there to take some stuff out of my wheelbarrow, I guess he forgot to take it back out:) I wasn't about to say anything to Pick N Pull though either. Thats awesome, BigBlue, I'm glad to hear its goin well for ya. Maybe down the road when I want to switch over I can let you know! Thanks for the update, I was asking Subieman about your conversion today as a matter of fact. keep up the work, and remember to take lots of pictures and stuff!

Weak Link...
The welds. I know a couple of board members who have broken the welds on the diff, and had to make the rest of the trip in an open diff. Other than that I think they're pretty good.

LSD swap question
So where in the heck do you get this e10torx socket? I bought one from Napa, but it doesn't fit inside the stub axle. It seems like the only way it would work is if the socket is on 1/4" drive, and nobody in town sells them. I went by Sears, Harbor Freight, Kragen, The dealership, and Napa today, and nobody had them. Where would I get this mystery socket? Thanks.
