My other post kinda got away from me, there's good info in it, but it wasn't exactly what I had in mind. So here's the question: What can you do to a subaru to make it more offroad capable? I know there's an offroad sticky in this forum, but lets get some more info that's not already there into here. What can you do In Detail, to make your soob more capable? What engine work, accessories, trannies, etc. can make ANY soob better offroad? Help me If I forget something or you want to add. 1 - LSD front/rear 2 - D/R 5Speed Tranny 3 - EA81 - Built? - Help?! 4 - Pugeot Wheels/Tires - See above sticky post for tire stuff
  2. Thats Nice!! That is a total sleeper now! Keep it up and remember that no soob is ever totally finished! (BTW - If you are running windows xp, then you can download a picture resizer, and have more room for pics. PM me for more info.)
  3. Hrm. I have a pair like those In the middle. I'll see what they look like mounted then maybe.
  4. Thats too bad. I'm glad to hear that he's all right. Its always scary to have something like that happen.
  5. yeah in snow it shouldn't be too bad, but even with one tire at 50% that could throw the car off. I JUST got studded tires put on my white brat after having the front drivers side tire being almost bald, and it made a world of difference. Before I got the new tires, the car seemed like it need an alignment BAD but afterwards, it drives as straight as an arrow. Try that first.
  6. I just bought a set of 6x9 square Kc offroad lights. I *think* they might be a little big to fit on the stock rollbar, but what do you think? Has anyone got a set of these on their soobs? Thanks.
  7. What are the details for building the best Offroad rig? What do you do to the engine, body, etc.. to make it stonger/better?
  8. I'd say: 1) 1982 Brat 2) Ea81 3) 4" lift kit 4) 27 or 28" tires 5) LSD 6) Custom Bumpers with winch mount 7) Rollbar 8) Back end "bobbed" Hows that for a start? Anyone add more or get into more detail?
  9. This could be a good post for new members who want to offroad mod their soob, and I have a burning question that I want answered as well: Using only subaru parts, what is the absolute BEST offroad setup? This is an all terrain question, not just one or another. thanks
  10. :slobber: and I didn't know about this one?? It's mine!! Just playin Brian, although I might have to go take pics. I'm gonna set up a day here pretty quick to go around to these brats that are for sale and take pics of them for everyone. I think I've got all the brats I need. I just neede to restore all I have. Your Rx looks AWESOME brian, have fun with it.
  11. Zeno - wasn't much to be excited about, snow was knee deep in some spots but otherwise was pretty foot packed. was sunny when I was there, a little fog down lower but not too bad.
  12. Don't worry about it guys. it's cool. I don't have your cell Subieman, only the home phone.
  13. Well crap!! Am I the only one who showed up? that sucks. I got there at 145 and waited till 210 then went inside and looked around. Finally left around 240. Oh well. I don't think I can make next week as I have school.
  14. Has anyone tried this? I'd like to know anyway.
  15. I like the first style. Makes me kinda wish I didn't sell them to ya! Thats cool though, have fun, and you'll have a SWEET RX any way you decide to go with those.
  16. I have the Lugs Brian!! Sorry! I forgot to give them to ya when you were up here. I even have a "locking" lug nut for them.
  17. Yeah the brat WOULD have just floated across that! That's why you always wheel with friends so that they can pull you out as needed.
  18. I'm in. What time and where should we meet? just right there at PnP?
  19. You got my vote too! Good Luck.
  20. Dave - I'd have to show you the tires that were on there! The driver side front was 80% Bald! Brian can attest to that. It was fun trying to get it out of the driveway cause it wouldn't catch. I had a set of studs sittin here and I *think* they will work a little better.
  21. That's awesome! I remember asking about lifting a Justy when I first joined.
  22. Here's my stock Brat in some deep water, I've had water up past the headlights, and over the hood, it's all about keeping a constant speed, and don't stop or stall your car in the water: Your EA82 may have a better time, it has a little more power.
  23. I went with the 4" cause I live by the motto "Go Big Or Go Home" and I kinda like how the front and rear are even. fitting 28's isn't too bad either.
  24. yeah I'm in, I just got some studded tires as well, so I am good to go! Lets finally get this Snow Run Goin!!
