I had the same problem with my lift. I can't shift into reverse. I haven't tried 4th, but I am thinking worst case there as well. I took my console out before the lift and so it's not that.

All right will do. It wouldn't hurt, that car was sitting for a while before we towed it over, so it could have some yucky stuff in it. I'll check around.

I just bought a weber, and someone brought up this up to me that the stock fuel pump might not be able to get enough fuel through the weber? Does this happen or am I all right? Thanks.

Light in the center of the grill
Jibs replied to Birddog's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
It's called a third eye. I don't know what years they came on wagons and stuff, but Brats came on them stock on the GL modes of the year 1982. You DO occaisonally see them in the junkyards, I've seen 3 in the same one a while back. -
Fun stuff, got water all over interior of car though, but it was worth it. and another pic of a different stretch and this is the deepest one here, we didn't get a pic, the digi camera's battery went dead. but this is it. I DID make it through though here's a damage report Fun stuff. I'll get back out there tommorrow hopefully and get a pic of me actually IN this thing. Here's one more.

Got 15inch Wheels but i need some advise
Jibs replied to Vegablade's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Do you have a lift kit? If not, you'll have to do some MAJOR fender trimming and turning might be a problem. -
yeah, but the box the kit comes in weighs a TON! I Darn near Kilt my back when I tried to pick it up. Let us know when it's in as well.

You know, I've seen one of these at the local wrecking yard. Same year (74) Pretty cool I'd say! I like the seats:brow: I don't know if it's still there though.

Yeah, it's all about what YOU want your ultimate subaru to look like. I'm a Brat man myself and so my dream Brat would be: 4" BYB Lift 28x8.5x14 Interco Super Swamper TSL's Stock Rollbar w/ 2 KC Daylighters Custom Front and Rear Bumpers w/ winch mount, tire rack etc. LSD rear many more options to follow. And I'm getting there too!

Nice to meet you and welcome to the board. If you like working on and driving subaru's, then this is the site for you. There are many knowledgeable people here, and are willing to help out. There are a few people from Canada here, check the "Members" section for some people in the area. Or just wait and let them answer for themselves!

Driveline noise Opinions, please.
Jibs replied to NV Zeno's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
It's so cool that you're trying to keep that car on the road! How many miles do you have on it now? How about maybe just retireing it and getting a new one? I can't think of what it could be, I thought I'd just throw in my .02. -
I'll have to check my Brat. I believe it intermittenly wipes the windshield and if so Zeno, I have an 81 Brat sitting here you could probably get it off of. If it is the same on the 81 of course.

Subaru Designers Sence of Humor??

That's Awesome! -
Yeah Peugeots work any 504 or 505 model Peugeot. Otherwise you can redrill your hubs into a 6 lug configuration to fit toyota rims. You may also drill toyota rims into the subaru 4 lug pattern. There aren't many options for the stock 13" rims, so you'll need to do one of the above to get any sort of bigger off road tires. Use the search function to find some info I posted.
-
I agree. If they would fit ea71's and ea81's I'd be happy to have a set.
-
Isn't it like 36mm? I think they're different for ea81 and ea82 models as well. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I see what you all are talking about with flooding the message board with the same questions all the time, but I have searched around again even in the USRM and have found no answers to some of the questions that have been asked. Maybe I missed it, but is there even a write-up on the 5 Lug swap into an ea82? I didn't see it in the USRM. Is there a write-up of what wheel and tire sizes will fit on a subaru without doing any trimming or bodywork? I didn't see it in the USRM. I don't deny anything on posts about lift kits for subaru's because I found that pretty easily, it doesn't seem that hard to find. I'm not complaining to any one member here, or to any of the moderators, as I know they have a tough job as it is to keep everything straightened out, but It's not as easy as to tell everyone to search all the time, that makes no sense, especially to all the newbs out there who don't quite know how to use the site, maybe they slip up and find that option only after posting the topic. I know that I've done that once or twice when I first got here.
-
All right, Thanks for the help.
-
I used the search, but all I found were threads for an EA82. What would I need off of an XT6 to convert to 5 lug on an EA81? Would just the hubs work or would I need the whole setup? thanks.

Good deal and nice to meet you. I'm sure you'll enjoy this board, and if you have any questions, feel free to post, there's no stupid questions. I remember driving through Aspen once, nice town from what I could tell, it was like 4AM when we passed through. Seemed nice though lots of trees.

Engine Swap - Lift Install Meet
Jibs replied to Jibs's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
So, what does everyone want to do for lunch? Is everyone getting something on the way up, or do you want me to order something and have it here when you get here? Let me know what you want I'm buyin! -
I didn't think that the corners of a subaru were strong enough to hold a carrier and a tire. McBrat - do you know if he had to fortify the corners to make it hold? I've been wondering if this were possible. Thanks.
-
Sounds like fun! Can't wait for the next show. And I fI had the money, I'd definitely buy the hatchbrat from ya, but I'm puttin all my money into my Brat. I'm sure it'll go to someone who'll take care of it.

Spare Parts for Roadtrip & Trail Ride'n ?
Jibs replied to MorganM's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Definitely axles. The weak point of subaru's. Also a spare tire, water or antifreeze, a come-along (going alone?), a tow strap is all I can think of right now. -
Yeah, get in touch with Soobme or Mudrat79, they build those kinds of things all the time and I'm sure They'll have some pics.
