  1. Here's a link to a jackman wheel, prolly what you'd find on early wagons. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/80s/wheels2/jackman.jpg
  2. Great. I'd like flared fenders. Thats about it. keep us informed.
  3. I have a question, How early can we sho up? Friday morning? Thursday night? just checkin.
  4. I like the idea. I'm working on preserving all the brats!
  5. FLARED FENDERS!! also skid plates and diff protectors as well.
  6. Since you have the Black and yellow Gen 1, maybe glossy black with yellow flames?
  7. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/80s/wheels2/wheels.html There ya go! Enjoy.
  8. Well thank you very much!! I didn't even know about that!! When you call can you ask about what colors they come in? I didn't see that at the site. Thanks!! I learn something every day!
  9. There was someone who was trying to make fiberglass fenders and hoods and stuff a while back. I can't remember who at the moment though. I'll see if I can search for it. I want to know about fiberglass stuff as well, my wheel wells in my 83 brat are GONE.
  10. I believe they stopped making the sidesteps after the 85 year models, the same year they stopped putting the seats in the back. The 86 GL models might have them, but I am not sure. All the 86 and 87's I've seen don't have the side steps and seats either.
  11. The 1981 Brat GL's were the only generation 1 Brats to have the Dual Range Transmission. they were also the only Brats to have the EA81 engines. All other Gen 1 Brats were EA71 models with the Single Range Transmission.
  12. Let's discuss the Brat. Brats were in production from 1977-1986 (Classified as 78's - 87's) There were 2 generations and body styles made. 1977-81 and 1982-1986 Turbo models were made in 83 and 84 (I believe) and were automatics. Keep the info coming! I have a few questions about the Brat: 1) Anyone know the production numbers of the Brat? 2) Were there GL models for 78-80 models? How were they classified?
  13. Sure. I'd like to get one of each year, and a turbo, so maybe I WILL open up a museum when I get them all. The funny thing is I don't pay too much for each one, never more than 12 or 1300$. I want to keep them from being destroyed as well, I guewss thats the main reason why I try to buy all of them. Thanks for all your help guys, I'mm gonna go back and look at it again next monday. I'll check everything you have brought up. Thanks.
  14. Consider this a bump, but here goes. i went and looked at another Brat for sale today, an 84 GL. It has the t-tops, and is an Automatic transmission. I don't think it is or ever was a turbo, but I can't be sure. the previous owner worked at the subaru dealership and had replaced the engine with a new import engine so I can't be sure if it was ever a turbo. There's no Turbo decal on the side near the Brat targa stripe, but it has the gold/yellow trim all the way around the car. Is there any other way to tell if it was ever a turbo, or is one of those rare N/A Auto Brats? thanks.
  15. 4" ByB Lift, 28x8.5 Super Swamper TSL's on 6 lug chrome US Wheel 75 series wheels. Lots of trimmin! Here's my writeup of it: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/article.php?a=55
  16. Sorry to hijack this post John, but can you make me a list of what I needed at the yard again? I take the pushbutton shifter and put it on the d/r or the other way around? Sorry, I meant to write it down when we talked, but couldn't find a pen in time. I'd appreciate it.
  17. It depends on how long its been sitting. Maybe the gas tank? The cv's will probably need to be replaced, but maybe not. also maybe a windshield. If you can pick it up cheap, go for it.
  18. A 4" ByB Kit. I'm not too worried about the 4wd and the shifter boot or anything, Just the e-brake console. Is there a way to mate the front of an ea82 console to the rear ea81 console? i'm gonna hit up a junkyard tomorrow to look at a couple.
  19. So Mudrat, I know I asked this before, but I forgot and want to know again. can I use my ea81 center console where the e-brake is? i know I'll probably have to run an ea82 console where the shift boot and the 4wd selector is, but was wondering on the other part. thanks.
  20. What? Now I'm confused. Don't worry about it, I don't think you're dumb. ShadyIrishman - Look in my signature, I AM running with a lift. I wouldn't try fitting these tires on a non lifted soob. (No Offense Zapar. ) I'll try beating it back a little, I don't need TOO much room.
  21. yeah thats it. Thanks a bunch. thanks also McBrat, I sent a PM.
  22. Know the length and width? I need new bolts to put it into my Brat, and they're smaller than 1/4" and I wanted to save a little, in not having to buy 5 or 6 different sizes to have one that fits. thanks.
  23. Here's a pic of the fenderwell of my Brat and of the 28x8.5 swampers I'm running. I had a friend cut the seam on both sides and did some trimming, but they still rub like mad. My question now is, should i have another friend cut it and weld some sheet metal there so it doesn't rub, or should i just get a BFH and smash it in an inch to an inch and a half. Would it screw up my pedal assembly by doing this and create problems on the passenger side as well if I hammered it? Thanks.
  24. Here's a pic of Bratsrus1's hatch that he made into a brat. Its called the HatchBrat!! He even went through the trouble of welding the part of the brat that the bed trim connects to onto the hatch. I have another pic somewhere of it from the rear. I'll look for it tonight.
  25. Does anyone know the size of the 5 bolts that connect the third eye to the frame in front of the radiator mount? Thanks.
