It would limit your down travel, not your uptravel, but not by much, i'd assume

Scorpion used to make 2" lift springs for EJ-series Subarus that were spring ONLY, and read nothing but good reviews from people that put them on their cars, so I figure 1.5" should be fine. I basically just need a stiffer spring rate and a little extra tire clearance. I'd actually probably just set it up about 3/8" higher in the front to help level it and go with less than 1.5" in the back.

I'm looking to install some coilover sleeves and mount them in a way that gives my GL-10 about 1.5-1.75" of lift. Anybody know where I can get some coilovers sleeves that will fit around stock shocks? I've yet to find GL-10 coilovers sleeves and I heard somewhere that Honda Civic sleeves will fit, but I don't know which Civic it is or even if that's true.

Anywho, all these brilliant ideas came from me doing quite a bit of research and speculating after making that original post. What do you guys think of my ideas for suspension?

If I were you, I'd build a pair of custom anti-sway bars (they're not that hard to build, just get the right diameter/wall thickness of DOM chromo) and retrofit some bushings for it. And get the Eibach springs. Eventually, I'd like to modify a set of D2 rally coilovers to fit my GL-10. I saw a GL-10 that had 05-09 Legacy coilovers mounted in it and they worked well. I'd assume that good anti-sway bars and the coilovers would make a WORLD of difference. If you make anti-sway bars, though, make them adjustable. Just make multiple mounting holes at each end. Also, the strut tower brace will be extremely easy to build and should make a little bit of a difference.

I just requested decals.

Found an intercooler that my friend will sell me for cheap. Also decided to make my own boost controller. Which means I need a boost gauge.

I got it! It's mine!

Gettin my new subie in 2 hours!

You'd get a lot more travel and flex out of a solid axle, though. Or at least easier axle articulation.
-
That's what I'm trying to keep an eye out for, though I've heard that you can't get a center diff limited slip/locker in Subies with an auto transmission (which this one has for the time being).

There's no push button on it...yet... but as I mentioned in my first post, I'm going to use the switch that used to control the auto leveling rear suspension for that. After thinking about it, rally is the only sensible direction to go with this one... ...and the coolest!

Top 10 Honored Japanese Trucks, yay for BRAT
jg09 replied to bheinen74's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
The BRAT that belonged to Ronald Regan was restored using only original BRAT parts and is now owned by Subaru. -
HP has a few rally guys in it judging by the pics on their site. is NW WA Off road like this too? I need some more info now because I'm realizing I'm more interested in the rally side of off road than trail riding.
