  1. I started on this tonight, the thing that occurred to me: since the lines disappear behind/above the gas tank, which one is which? I don't want to cross them and have the circuits be screwed up, ie; right front, right rear, lf, lr. Instead of rf, lr, and lf, rr. Looking under the back seat, which one is which? Merry Christmas!
  2. I know this is an old post but I'm dealing with this right now. I can picture pretty easily how to do this, just one question so far. Do I need to create a new hard line? Or can it be soft?
  3. Thanks for the advice, I think i'll change the fusible links for good measure, re-check the battery connections at both ends, then check all the fuses, then learn how to use a multi-meter. YAY! this is my step daughter's car and I can't get mine back until it's fixed. Thanks again for the info, i'll post results. D
  4. I have an 86 gl fwd sedan, weber conversion, put a NAPA fuel pump in the other day and now I get nothing when I turn the key. Charged the battery, cleaned the battery terminals, made sure they were tight. checked the fusible links. Any ideas? Thanks, D
  5. numbchux: thanks for the great reply, very informative gives me the exact info i needed. I might go the heim joint way, i don't have a problem with noise or regular lubing. Thanks again:)
  6. Numbchux, so just to be perfectly clear... It's a bad idea to turn the tie rod ends over? I have a two inch lift and there seems like a lot of pressure on the tie rod ends when the suspension is at full droop, I've been thinking that turning them over would relieve this. Other than lowering the drive train do you have a suggestion for a fix? Thanks.
  7. Saw the weirdest thing today, I was cruising south on Hwy 30 towards PDX at about noon and I see this nice little white Brat with a canopy going north. I don't know the year, because I don't. About 2 minutes later I see a blue one, it's newer, about 2 minutes after that I see another. This one is white as well and lifted, I think it's the same one I see in St Helens... was there some kind of meet today or something? Or did I just get lucky.
  8. Did you get this car from GD? He had one that looked exactly like that. is it a DR 5speed?
  9. +1, unless you did something that would cause the timing belt to fail, it's his problem.
  10. Just had this happen to my lifted 85 wagon. exact same symptoms. I was a 10 minute fix.
  11. What a great time! Thanks to the Ken for talking to the Forest Service and getting us a place to play! I now know what to do to make my car work better in the snow, bigger engine and better tires.
  12. Hey Rick, you're a popular guy! I'll make it quick, I need a new alternator and was wondering if you had a Maxima one sitting around waiting for a home... I lost your # when my phone died, hopefully you still have mine. If not PM me back. I'll be in PDX on Wed the 10th, LMK Dave

  13. What size drill bit did you use for that, I have a set of 6 lug Calmasters that I want to use, just haven't really tried to find the right bit size.
  14. I didn't run it , just pulled it off and put it right back on. What do you think about the wipers? Gonna go put the new alt in right now.
  15. Here's an interesting Alternator thing... I'm Prettty sure my regulator is going too... the gauge reads 18amps when the is anywhere above an idle. I pulled the ground wire off the battery to see if the car would die, it revs higher AND the windshield wipers come on! Yes the switch all the way off, I checked because the intermitents are intermitent, sometimes they get left on. What the Heck? weird
  16. There are a couple EA81 wagons at P&P on Foster, I was there Wednesday.
  17. I thought of the running rich angle too, I haven't changed anything carb wise and the choke is all the way open. I'll check the line at the firewall, sounds likely since the car smells whether it's running or not. thanks
  18. I've done abunch of searching and can't find what I'm looking for. There is a gas smell inside the cabin of my wagon. It's a 85 Weber conversion, it smells like gas when driving and after it sits, no leaks i can see under the hood and it doesn't smell like gas under there. no puddles under the car. Doesn't smell outside the car. Runs fine. Any ideas? It really sucks to have drive with the windows down in the cold, luckily we haven't had too much rain yet.
  19. I hope you're spending ALOT of time surfing this site, read everything that has to do with EA82s and EJ swaps. Everything you need to know about your car is here... have fun.
  20. I'd definately be interested in a Sunday trip this fall. Keep us posted.
  21. Thanks for the advice and responses guys, I neglected to consult the old lady about this before hand... it didn't go so well. no XT6 for me. Hope it wasn't the last 5 speed left on the planet.
  22. I wasn't sure where to post this... I'd like some help from any board members in Boise or nearby. There is an XT6in Boise that I'm working a deal on, it was on PDX CL. I talked to the guy today and he wants to sell it to me. What I'm asking is that someone over there drive by and make sure it's actually there before I send him money and drive all the way out to Boise. Any help would be appreciated, PM Me for address.
