for the hub to rotor? It almost looks like 4x100.

This is important, please give input!

well, i locked the diff and marked the tires on loose gravel, and did a small stright line...the rear tires lag behind. I need a 3.70. I guess I'll go get one monday! I was gonna autocross sunday...But I'll wait until nov 29th and maybe do it with the RX instead. -

alrighty...thanks all! Anyone got any more info? -
Ok, this transmission in my GL-10...its not an XT6 transmission. I appears EXACTLY identicle to one tho...the only difference is that it came with the XT/L series crossmember mounts on it. So...here is the deal...it actually came out of a *unknown year* XT Turbo, a rare one with the Spyder intake. So this IS a FT4WD transmission, i know this, the center diff locks, and there is always some kind of power going to the rear. I really think its an 87...since the place wrote 87 on the trans... So here is the QUESTION...what is the final drive? 3.70, or 3.90???????????? It seems to have the same RPM at 60 as the RX in HI, 3k. The RX is 3.70. thats a 400 rpm difference from the 2wd XT turbo trans thats 3.70. I've got a 3.90 rear diff installed, cuz thats what the specs are on the XT6, 3.90. But if this is a 3.70 trans, I need to know before I drive it even more! Or even think about locking that diff.... To be 3.90, or not to be 3.90? That is the question....

If i had a SPFI car, Id stick it out the hood. BUT...im going to have a Spyder intake on the RX...so..im a tad limited. I guess I'll buy 3 or 4 of those adapter plates from express. Its not that bad for price when I order more than one...i spreads the shipping.
-
yup. Maybe...if it was in my budget, it would send that extra XT6 trans that I have off to get the center and front diffs LSD'ized. Oh, Id have to take them out and THEN send them, thats right...since i have to take it a part to fix the shifter forks to get it to shift in the first place.

differences between 2wd and 4wd???
WJM replied to Meeky Moose's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
no prob! -
if it doesnt come out, dont take it out. unless its the plugs that you need to take out to get the wrist pins off....then i dont know what to tell ya. i think i uded an impact to get a few out.
-
Like yeah. more boost=more money, in essence. You also use more 'essence' with more boost, so you wont get as many MPG.
-
let try to keep on topic...

ummm...i've certinly never seen an OPEN deck EA82...even a non turbo one. *edit* If one uses CU headG's and STi injectors, with an STi fuel pump (or equvilants)...possibilities unlimited....but the engine has limits on airflow. Heads. i think that a *NEW* EA82T, in perfect mechanical condition, with the above parts, Spyder intake and a VF34 with a rather large front mount could push 20 or better...for a couple thousand miles. Keeping in mind that everything else, internally atleast (except CU HG's), is stock.

differences between 2wd and 4wd???
WJM replied to Meeky Moose's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I believe ALL front rotors on ALL EA82 cars are the same. WIth regard to the clutch...I have a 2wd XT turbo 5spd, it uses the same clutch set as any 4wd EA82 car, even the XT6. I dont know for sure about the L series EA82 cars, but this is what I know... 2wd, non-turbo Leone/Loyale use the 7 inch clutch (7 and 7/8 to be exact, IIRC) and 23 spline axles. 2wd, turbo XT's use 25 spline and 8 (8 and 7/8) inch. 4wd non-T Leone/Loyale use 23 spline and 8 inch clutch (from what I have seen) ALL 4wd Turbos use 8 inch clutch and 25 spline. It seems like all XTs have 25 spline and the large clutch, but i have not confirmed this on the non-turbo XTs. XT6 uses 8 inch and 25 spline. *note this listing is for 5spd trans ONLY* For Autos, I have yet to see any 2wd or 4wd that uses the 25 spline. My GL-10 when it was an auto 2wd had 23 spline. Ofcourse, i have no clue about different T-converters. -
180 t-stat, and AL rad. Clean coolant system. Use good coolant.

hmmm....

josh long: I just went to home depot, couldnt find anything! Pics please...? I remember talking to Mike W, i tihnk it was him, with his RX, before he sold it to subarutex? Anyhow, he said home depot or something. Storm drain flange. Eh...me no find such thing as in those pics. I dont wanna go thru Express again, i got the adapter for the GL-10. Its ok...but i'd never get one again...unless it was an absolute last resort. So...we need some SKU (of whatever) part number from home depot, and stuff. Information gathering!!!!!!! I need to make some of these intakes up. So............

I'll post the cam specs here too... 260 duration, 0.42 lift. $135 for the pair, and you send them the cams to grind. one day turn-a-round.
-
The "mild" cam is what I am going with. 260 duration with .42 lift. The other one was 272 duration with idk how much lift.
-
Id get a donor car and do a direct swap side by side. I dont think it would be hard for ME...but others...it may be easy'r or hard'r....
-
Id rather have a LSD front and rear, with a viscous center diff. But I'd have 600 HP going to a ground too...that would justify all those LSDs and the VC. Even in stock form, the RX would spin an inside tire on hairpin bends when I get back on the gas. Add it was DRY tarmac too. Not it had rear LSD too, i think it was the inside front spinning now that I tihnk about it...
-
I am near concord NC. I think its got a duration of 270 deg, and a tad more lift. Its a rally spec cam, from Delta. $130 for the pair, and i send them the cores.
-
Well, since I have some newly aquired $$$...I am going to go with some Delta full out rally-spec competition cams. Gaskets Works' Copper Headgaskets, and an XT6 Clutch for my RX. I might invest in a lighten'd flywheel as well. Oh, it'll get a spyder tubo intake too. I found one...on an engine thats known good. It'll be the victim of of all of these racing goodies. Oh, dont forget the oil cooler too! I'll be doing a proper lowering job and experiment with camber again...this time I'll move the control arm out.
-
I would cut the whole bottom from the intake box, or adapt a K&N cone filter to the MAF. You can advance the timing a few deg and run 93 octance fuel for a few more ponies. Then a glasspack would complement that well. New plugs (NGK), wires, coil, dist cap and rotor would clear things up a free up some lost power...
-
whats the size of the one that looks to spill all of the coolant from the engine at the bottom?
-
it says in my owners manual for 86 that the carb engines have 9:1, and everything else exc. turbo has 9.5:1, including N/A MPFI. But from what I have seen, all of the pistons exc. turbo are the same.
