  1. i think he means like, give an sti a lift kit.
  2. well, yeah, obviously. you're not just swapping the tranny, you're doing the a new driveshaft setup, rear end, and axles. you'll also need new rear struts because the fwd rear struts don't fit the awd rear struts. you're better off buying an awd instead of a fwd and swapping. unless you like projects.
  3. you could put a 2.2 or a 2.5 in it with little problems
  4. you'd gain a degree or two is you got rid of the pusher
  5. more importantly....what's RTI
  6. i agree with all statements. and second the weight comment above. when i autox'ed a few weeks ago i stripped my car. i took out the bottom and back of the back seat, took out the passenger seat, cleaned out the trunk and took out the spare tire. there were HUGE differences in accel off the line. the whole car felt more nimble and peppy. so, first thing's first, get to doing some weight reducing with the interior as well as the spinning parts.. i think there's actually a thread somewhere here about things that you can take out of your car to reduce weight.
  7. so, all things being the best they can be, you'd get 80hp out of all of that. yeah right.
  8. well, you didn't give us a whole lot of information...Blue Book in area code 85701 for that car is as follows (put in as fair condition) L Sedan 4D fwd: $1625 awd: $2365 L Coupe 2D fwd: $1525 awd: $2265 LX Sedan 4D awd: $3125 LX Coupe 2D awd: $2900 those are the only options in the car that fit with your description. there's also wagons as well as models that only come in manual. so, based on those prices off of KBB i'd say that it's either the L Sedan 2 or 4 door FWD/ something's wrong with it so that it doesn't fit into the "Fair" catagory/ or you have a good friend who's giving you a good price. i'd probably go with the second option.
  9. it was funny in 3 ways... 1. the music 2. how quickly it gets dark where you live 3. every once in a while i heard chipmunks talking...
  10. yeah..trippletreads...nice
  11. a new car for the wife would get her to not comlplain about your car
  12. after modding a car to that extent and then driving it for over 116k you're better off parting it out than selling it. some things that you do have in your favor however is that there's no major engine mods to speak of.
  13. based on your avatar picture, i'd say between 40 and 45
  14. too much work...too much.. outsideness
  15. so...here i would venture to guess that the reason that i have as much as you do with the mudrat bumper is because my tires are bigger.. same height and width, but you've got 14", i've got 15"
  16. i dont either. i used photoshop. set a horizontal guide and rotate the picture until the approach angle is horizontal. whatever the last degree was that you rotated it, is your angle.
  17. everything's cheap if you have a machine shop i'd have so many lightweight things that you can't buy in stores.
  18. the funny thing is that it's probably dirt cheap to make them too
  19. until i see a 73* (beats hummer H1) then this thread's open for business
  20. no. that's just a bad outitude.
  21. no, that would be 3rd Degree Outery
  22. Outacy. definately Outacy.
  23. yeah...parking blocks don't scare me anymore. actually, that's a good view. i used to hit those towhooks on the parking blocks.
