  1. yeah but you could push 15lbs into a 2.2 and get into the 250-275 range
  2. well, a stock EJ22 is something like 130hp and a stock EA81T is around 95hp . Now if you go with the 2.2 route, you could still put a turbo on it.
  3. Most parts stores sell a pretty cheap gapping tool. Also if you bought NGK plugs, they should come pregapped.
  4. You could go the megasquirt route http://www.bgsoflex.com/megasquirt.html The Volvo and VW guys who have switch to MS from CIS feel that it's a big improvement
  5. Did they have an 85 RX because that's an 85 in the picture
  6. I've seen them before. Les Schwab was selling them maybe they still do
  7. 1600 pistons are not 9.5:1 they are only 9.0:1 They only pistons that get 9.5:1 are EA82 SPFI
  8. yeah, lifter noise is pretty common with the EA82 and resealing the oil pump often cures the problem.
  9. according to the wiring diagrams I have for 84, the fuel pump get its +12v from the FPCU via the Blue-red wire and the ground for the pump is the car body with the black wire.
  10. If you are just going to be driving around town, you should not have any problem.
  11. You might run into the problem of the wheel wells being narrow. I know that 3.5ft wide pieces of plywood will not fit between the wheel wells of my wagon. As for the cargo capacity, the recommended capacity is 850lbs passengers and cargo. Now from personal experience I have drive my wagon from Portland to Klamath Falls a few time with enough weight to ride the bump stops the whole distance. The trip included a 3000ft climb up a mountain pass. The Pass level is about 5200ft. Most of the climb was spent in 3rd gear going about 55mph.
  12. The axle assemblies as a whole can be interchanged. Now the joints on a 2wd axle are smaller then the joints for a 4wd axle, so keep that in mind. Now if you are wanting to take the CVJ (inter joint) from the 2wd axle and put it onto the shaft of the 4wd axle, that can be done but you will need to use the joint boot for a 2wd. The same goes for the DOJ (outer joint)
