  1. How much for the car? I'd say that the tensioner came loose and needs to be retightened.
  2. Why not the rear? Good article though. Would they work any better on sand than tires without??
  3. Why wouldn't the chains work? I've seen Road Graders that have chains on them just because of the mud. It might not be a great advantage but I don't see any drawbacks...other than coming loose or something. Definately front and back.
  4. Hey, I wasn't trying to be rude or calling you out. Sorry if I seemed like I was being so.
  5. Requires either crawling under the car or taking the shifter boot off and looking at the bushings. They probably need replacing or if you're lucky, something is loose. Also, welcome to the board.
  6. I recommend using techron additive or chevron fuel...it added 3 mpg to my car.
  7. Well, he was just updating his post. He's the original poster. It's good to follow up your posts so when someone has the problem, they know what's been done.
  8. That just made my day:headbang:. Pretty funny. Sorry to hear the it isn't working out.
  9. What about storing it with the keys in the lock?
  10. Did you do the correct bleed procedure? Front Left Rear Right Front Right Rear Left
  11. Agree with Miles, but the 3at is a boat anchor. Don't bother with it...however, you'll probably get some for free or cheap with everyone swapping FROM 3at to 4 or 5 speeds.
  12. Wait? The AA lifts didn't lower the diff? What I do with Ea82's is drop the diff 3 inches and the shocks 4. 1" isn't going to hurt too much. Is this image mirrored, woundedbrat? I ask, because the exhaust is going to the "passenger" side.
  13. Crazy, on my '87 Turbo Wagon it'd give me codes first thing in the morning without a ECS light.
  14. As for an o2 sensor, check a parts store, try to get a bosch one or something respectable. You have several options of fixes. You can convert to a weber carburetor, which is fairly simple. Or convert to Single Point Fuel Injection, which is fairly complicated compared,to the weber swap, but with write-ups and how-to's (THanks GD) and the support of this board, is well within most people's capabilities. Or you can replace the o2 sensor and pcv valve and see what it does. Also, I believe you can pull up codes with the computer, well I know on the fuel injected models. Do the carburated models do the same? If so, tell this man how.
  15. Has this been asked already? Have you put a different distributor in it, a known good one?
  16. I was thinking the same thing, but if he has the stock one in and it doesn't surge anymore...wtf.
  17. I don't agree. Retrofitting is more like putting a GM alternator into your Subaru or 5 lug swap. This is some very sharp and impressive fabrication, he's paying attention to detail. Some of us would have cut the back out, welded the hatch in place and called it good. Even if it was supposed to be in the retrofitted section, there would not be as many viewers looking at it.
  18. Nice, but now we're going to have a surplus of "lsd"s with everyone putting them on their non lsd diffs...lol. Cool ideas.
  19. He doesn't have a vacuum disty.
  20. I just thought it was going to be some pics on a default calendar format.
  21. I take it, that this is the turbo wagon you have on your info? If so, you have to locate the green connectors and connect them, they should be in the engine bay (by the driver's side firewal) or under the steering column by the ECU. There's going to be a couple of other connectors that look like they should be connected, no. Leave them disconnected. Now that the green connectors are connected, hook your timing light up and put the inductor on the #1 spark plug, it's the plug that's in the front passenger side of the engine, front being the radiator. Loosen the distributor hold down bolts (should be one or two with 10mm heads), start the car, let it warm up if it's not. Remove the flywheel cover (if there is one), time it at 20 degrees BTDC. If you can't see the 20 mark, turn the car off and rotate the engine until you see the marks and put a paint mark on the 20 or something that you can see.
  22. I think he's making a positive for a screen print?
  23. What's it take to rebuild yourself? I've never taken one apart before.
  24. Same here, got my calendar...it's better than I expected...little late, but pretty cool none the less.
  25. I know where s/he lives. I also asked the same question. No response. He has a wagon the same way too. EDIT: Not to sound creeper or stalkerish, I drive by his house on the way to work.
